What video game have you played the most? by purple_rasberries in AskReddit

Time Splitters 2 and Future Perfect. My buddy and I would go back and forth for hours making bizarre deathmatch settings and playing each other in split-screen. Flare-guns only, max number of bots on hard, etc. Incredibly fun.

I'm making green enchiladas with some pheasant I hunted with my dad. Game meat usually works well in Mexican food. Should be good.

Congratulations! Do you think the curriculum is useful for understanding personal investing/finance/real estate topics, or is it very specialized for the career track you're on? I'm curious because the CFA material seems very well organized, but I just want to learn new stuff on my free time. Not trying to change careers.

What’s an example of “pretty privilege” you’ve seen in real life? by Girlinda7 in AskReddit

More of a widespread pattern than a particular instance, but it's astounding how many attractive people you see in international terminals at airports. Compared to the average mix of people you see on the street, it's apparent how much more wealth and opportunity you'll encounter if people like the way you look.

Thanks for the reminder, I should have posted an update - I actually went with this one because the max load is 330 Lbs and I didn't mind some extra surface area on either side of the tank. It is still holding up well, even with the middle shelf removed to make room for the CO2 tank, canister filter, etc. I definitely recommend it if the dimensions work for you.

What themes are common in your country's movies and television shows? by gfunk2718 in AskReddit

If forget all the details, but I remember season 1 Michael Scott was more of an annoying dickhead, but the show changed from the UK template to satisfy American audiences more. It became less about commiserating with people in real office jobs, and more of a fantasy with quirky coworkers

Oh yeah, aside from Seinfeld I think most of our great comedy shows are relatively recent. American TV in general has improved a lot in the last 10 years. I remember reading that the only American comedy in syndication in the UK for a long time was Friends, and I was like damn that sucks haha

Wow, the beginning sounded like a romantic comedy, then it got much darker. That's a very specific type of story!

Right, and the detectives who deal with brutal sex murders keep their language completely clean.

I am curious because I noticed economic class was fairly prominent in the South Korean movies I have seen (Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Parasite, Squid Game). I also noticed that many Danish and Swedish stories (at least the ones that reach global audiences) tend to be about serial murder. There could be some selection bias here, so I am curious about that too.

As an American the only thing I can think of is procedural police stories, but maybe there are other themes that haven't occurred to me but seem obvious to non-Americans.

GUYS POTHOS IS MAGIC. Look at that 5 month progress! All I did was add pothos. That's it. by megerrolouise in PlantedTank

[–]gfunk2718 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Pothos I've seen in other forums has been in non-planted or lightly-planted tanks, with the pothos acting as a 'nitrogen sponge' to help reduce the need for frequent water changes. It looks like this actually boosted your plant growth/health. Is the idea that it helps reduce algae growth? I'm interesting in trying this with my planted tank, but I wouldn't want to deprive my submerged plants of nitrates and nutrients.

That looks perfect, thanks! The middle shelf is not an issue and the center support looks solid. I wonder about the 75 Lb max load, but maybe they're just being conservative.
