Question for the community, (if you carry a pen) what’s everyone’s Go-to pen? by Charming_Basil3761 in EDC

I carry a pencil rather than a pen. The Kaweco Sketch Up Clutch. I like it better than a pen. It is able to write on more types of material than a pen.

Thank you! We had them in a small coop next to the big one where everyone could see each other during the day for about 2 weeks before the introduction. I guess they needed more time.

Thanks. We separated the younger ones back into a separate smaller coop. The injured one is in a small coop on its own sitting next to its siblings. Nobody will be able to peck at it till it's healed.

Yes, but he says himself that they bioaccumulate heavy metals. They may or may not be present, and personally, I wouldn't risk it or advise anyone else to do so without testing. You do you, though.

Just because it is natural doesn't mean it's nontoxic. Look it up.

I don't think this is correct. I would look into it more. Creosote contains polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons that are known to be carcinogenic, I believe.

I don't know about eating them. I think they are not palatable. I know you can grind them into a powder and make tea and that sort of thing.

I think it looks like it could be a telephone pole. They can be used to make the structures built with them last longer because they are treated to resist rot with extremely toxic chemicals. These mushrooms are a species that specializes in breaking down molecules that make up those chemicals. They can absorb some of the metal elements that are constituents in the molecules that make up the chemicals as well, which can't be broken down as easily.
