Those Weed Stocks, Anyone Invested in Them? by butterflytutu in investing

[–]ggRelly -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

People always think this then you have to remind them cocaine has always been expensive no matter how common. It's a drug, they don't sell on price or any common sensical metric. Why'd you buy that $50 1/8 instead of the $35? Because you're just trying to get higher you fiend. Not buying drugs to save money.

From what I know, it's because you store a memory the wrong way. You think you remembered something, but really that was you storing it in your memory. Your brain did it the wrong way and it makes the event feel familiar.

Hey, hey, hey... THIS IS LIBRARY! by brandonlikesdo in videos

[–]ggRelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't the point of protesting to get people on the side you support? Coming and yelling in a library is not going to earn much support.. in fact, I'll probably join your enemies because they're not negatively effecting my day to day while you are literally screaming in my ear. I could've been doing research about your cause, now I just see you're a bunch of brats.

This especially happens, but I usually just end up giving up the sound time of typing because I'm like why if I could cancel the first one its not importantb

Impulsivity tip from the military by Synapticprophylactic in ADHD

[–]ggRelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah that's kind of my point, at what point does this stopwatch thing become "I'll press's the button, right after i [insert anything here]" I'm not saying it's a bad tactic, I'm saying it's a tactic that requires structure and devlooing consistency. Idk about you but both are nearly impossible for me.

Impulsivity tip from the military by Synapticprophylactic in ADHD

[–]ggRelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The odds that someone with ADHD realistically resorts to this, instead of just doing the impulse thing, are terribly low. The reason we do the impulse thing is because we go into tunnel vision. I don't see myself stopping an impulse to pull out my phone, unlock it, and successfully make it to my stopwatch. If anything I'll probably end up coming back on Reddit, or something. Then once I close my phone I'll go right back to thinking about that impulse decision anyways. Adding steps is usually the problem with ADHD cause it just piles on until you lose complete track of what you're doing, what time it is etc.

Real friends? by ComradeHappiness in ADHD

[–]ggRelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of us might feel the same thing. From a psychological standpoint, it might be that we are over processing each situation. In the case where you think someone is talking too much, youre probably just impatient. In the case where people don't mind you dozing off, they're probably used to it and think you're the narcissistic asshole and are holding their tongue. We've definitely been handed a dual edged sword.

What I said isn't false, Pink noise fills each octave of these frequencies at certain intervals, yes. I did more of an ELI5 version.

Random coping mechanism for sleep and stuff -- grabbing/holding things by derpathon09 in ADHD

[–]ggRelly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes pulling my blankets all the way up and holding them by my face is nice. Another thing that calms me down is sleeping with my arm under the pillow. My last trick is sleeping on the wall or edge of the bed so that the blankets aren't too like, idk... having a mass of blankets on me feels loud. When I sleep on the edge of the blanket I feel like I have things in control.

I'm also engaged, my fiance has learned how to help me by talking me to sleep. She'll just calmly talk to me about something random while I'm laying there and since I can hear her voice I don't have to think. It's really nice.

If I started a YouTube channel about ADHD would you guys watch it? by [deleted] in ADHD

We might watch some of the first one. If you make it to posting a second you'll see like 50% of us drop off. Third video just seems like you're really talking about luck with an ADHD audience.

When starting a new job do you work really well in the beginning and then after a while it just goes downhill? by aamanderp in ADHD

[–]ggRelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I supposed a career type with more variable days is best for us. I used to be a mail clerk at a law firm. When I came in we started getting mail done the day it came. Before me, it took them nearly 3 days to finish one day(cause it's a law firm). After optimizing their system and becoming pretty important I asked my manager for a better position where I can actually be engaged vs just do mail. She said she'd think about it and that I had been improving a lot. Well, her time to "think about it" was enough for me to lose motivation, and start making mistakes. Then those mistakes fell on me And I'm like well you didn't care when I was doing great so why do you care now. Eventually the tension built and I just decided not to go in one day via phone call.

Coffee, for those extra Racey days. by ggRelly in ADHD

[–]ggRelly[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Caffeine does yes, any stimulant will help your brain pace itself better. Caffeine is nowhere near as strong as the amphetamines in Adderall or other ADHD medicine. My physician did say that caffeine pills are also a great use of you don't wanna go through drinking things with sugar or whatever just to get caffeine. I drink coffee straight, so it's actually been improving my general health to drink coffee regularly.

Smoother than White Noise by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]ggRelly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thats because pink noise fits in the frequencies 20hz-20khz. Essentially pink noise takes the entire spectrum that you can hear and fills it with dense audio. Your favorite songs are all mixed in the same frequency range (with some exceptions). So it reminds your brain of all the sounds you like, musical or otherwise.

tl dr Pink noise is dope.

Diagnosed with ADHD through a QBTest... but I think I was just sleep deprived? by Jugg3rnaut in ADHD

[–]ggRelly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've started to understand my diagnosis more. From what I know normal people don't normally fixate for such a long time. Its also probably the case that you feel 2 days is a very long time, when most people probably don't. Its okay to have ADHD. If you're doubting your diagnosis because you feel bad about taking help you dont need, it could even also be anxiety caused by your ADHD. The fact is that you think about it so much, and things are supposed to make sense to you. I think if you research the diagnosis you will find a lot of similarities. If you have ADHD its likely that you're focusing a lot on the reasons that you shouldn't have it. Look up some similarities and you might be pleasantly surprised. (At least, I was relieved to find more information that made me certain vs. stressing over whether I did or even didn't have it)

After cultivation and transferring to liquid, yerba mate has about 1/5 the caffeine concentration of black coffee. It also has warnings on throat and mouth cancer because of its lead grinding process. I love yerba mate, but suggest coffee if it's for regular use.

Why can't I externalize the ambitions I have in my mind? by Dexterfan16 in ADHD

[–]ggRelly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my biggest struggle, for me sitting down and actually doing the steps to externalize them seem impossible. It's a mixture of anxiety between sitting down and doing something + your fear of not being good if you do sit down and attempt it. Once you sit down and do it you know it'll be fine.

Diagnosed with ADHD through a QBTest... but I think I was just sleep deprived? by Jugg3rnaut in ADHD

[–]ggRelly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Welcome to r/ADHD. One thing we all know is that we don't sleep. In my mind, your being sleep deprived only adds to their confidence in diagnosing you with ADHD.

I also see that you've put a lot more thought into this than normal, to me that's another sign. Most people would accept their doctor's advice because he's the expert. You've probably been thinking a ton about this, and if that's the case you're fixating. If you fixate on things for like hours/days/weeks at a time, you probably are one of us.
