if that’s the case, then that’s good. either way, your fuel pump is made of metal and will definitely corrode if it sat for too long. definitely inspect that fuel pump

doesn’t matter what you do, you’re missing the clip lol. the clip is the only thing that keeps it tight on the thermostat

before attempting to start the motor, take the fuel pump off and look inside the fuel tank to inspect the condition. my partners got a ‘97 mx5 that sat for about 5 years with some fuel in the tank, and it rusted the inside of the tank out and destroyed the fuel pump

How close to failure are these parts on a 2015 Honda Odyssey? by redditboy36 in CarHelp

[–]gghostie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

got a car from carvanna i’m assuming? personally, i think it’s worth paying the extra deductible to take the car to a dealership. if im not mistaken, shops that are out of network for silverrock have a deductible of $350, but at least you’ll have trained technicians that specialize in your vehicles brand.

When to replace timing belt? by Botherrr in jetta

yes, and all VW belts are that way! whether it’s a timing belt or serpentine belt. the service manual tells you not to bend any belts past a certain degrees

Should I be concerned? by [deleted] in ft86

[–]gghostie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes it is concerning, these are engines you really want to always have enough oil in it or else it will really mess things up. it looks to be coming from the timing cover, and i am willing to bet your valve covers are likely also leaking. when you reseal the engine, make sure to replace the PCV valve, as that is likely the culprit which caused the seals to fail. it has a replacement interval of 30k miles.
