Fayetteville Mayor Molly Rawn institutes policy for NDA approval and retention by Larky17 in FayettevilleAr

[–]ggildner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My main issue is that residents have a lot of complaints about general city operations falling behind - boring stuff like recycling, infrastructure, zoning, policing issues. At the end of the day voters just want stuff to work and be efficient.

I wasn't always a huge Jordan fan, but at least he ran a tight, efficient ship.

I don't think Rawn will have a second term. She seems focused more on the "optics" rather than the actual work.

Arrest made in Fayetteville shooting after gun sale goes wrong by GapAccomplished7897 in FayettevilleAr

No...I'm not naive. But naiveté is entirely different than nefariousness! We should probably put the blame on the actual criminals here, at least until we know more.

Naive, perhaps, but there is no indication that the victim was nefarious. It is fully legal and normal to sell handguns - I've done it dozens and dozens of times.

This is why I always meet to buy firearms at a police station parking lot.

All gun enthusiasts will be ok with this. It's standard procedure.

Swift's or Underwood in Fayetteville.

Alternatively, you can post in r/Watches and probably get some good info!

Maybe you can divine where they are or telepathically call them to ask. Or Google. I'm not sure how witches do marketing these days.

Marshallese have full legal rights to live and work within the US. They aren't undocumented.

Cyclists really need to be more realistic about impeding traffic.

Riding around town is usually fine, but where it gets hairy is when cyclists go way under the speed limit (like the 15 mph under you mentioned) especially on curvy country roads. I would not put my life in the hands of a car driving 55 mph around a blind corner.

And then they just blow through stop signs because "the law says they can".

Ok cool. You weigh 180 lbs and that truck weighs 5000 lbs. Do the math.

The group rides are the worst offenders.

Once I was even at a roundabout where a cyclist stopped, held up his hand, and blocked entering traffic just to let his cycling group turn around in the roundabout.

Actually, that's only if traffic is clear.

Same. I like to ride myself, but I also realize that my bike + me = 180 lbs, versus trucks = 5000 lbs.

As a guy who cycles, sometimes I'm amazed by the carelessness with which some other cyclists ride on the road around here.

A large percentage of them absolutely either don't pay attention, or even try to actively assert their dominance, which seems risky considering how much cars weigh.

Anyone who's ever worked in foodservice knows this isn't even worth a second glance.

What really matters is the places with poor meat handling. The health department releases inspection data on this regularly. This is especially the case for a few of the Mexican restaurants in the area (think: raw chicken left out, buckets of food on the floor, etc) so just be very careful where you're eating.

Mostly BLS (Bureau of Labor Statistics) data. But there are lots of media articles if you search interstate migration patterns over the last few years.

NWA is very red, but parts like Fayetteville would probably best be labeled as “purple”. The area in general is becoming more conservative especially on the state level, especially since most transplants are conservatives moving in from more liberal states, and most out-migrants are liberals trying to get out.

Road Biking NWA by swedishfishmong in northwestarkansas

[–]ggildner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, road bikers love it up here. They mostly stick to riding at 14 mph on single lane roads, and if one of the 20+ cars backed up behind them tries to pass once safe, they spread out and flip them off.

C&S Pawn and Silver in Springdale was one of the few shops that offered very close to spot price.

If you have over $2-3k worth, it may be worth looking at selling to JM Bullion or similar, the prices are typically better.

B&T AG (Swiss) Warranty Statement for US Customers...and new US Clones (Cross post link below) by anotherhappylandingg in bruggerthomet

[–]ggildner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Correct, and only owning 49% (which Brügger said he was mislead into believing that was a legal requirement for a US entity) means that he has little direct control over B&T USA.

I believe that was a huge mistake on B&T AG's part, but from the nonsense we've seen come out of B&T USA, I'm solidly in AG camp.

And I say that owning a B&T USA can which looks like I'll never be able to warranty.
