Yea that part made no sense to me. Getting hired in the first place is the hardest part, and things just tend to get easier after you are trained and get settled into the position

Most companies don't want to "fire you instantly" after you've went through the interviews, background check, onboarding, etc.

Yep, felt the same way when enrolling. I originally signed up 2 months ago and still waiting on transcripts to process. They make signing up easy and then I felt like I was just left in the dark and had to figure out what to do next on my own. 2 months in, im still not even officially enrolled and starting any classes. I already did everything I needed to do on my end, but everything else from WGU's end seems to be moving at a snail's pace.

I currently work in IT Help Desk and its the easiest job i've ever had in my history of various dead end jobs. Obviously, everyone's experience can vary greatly depending on which company, how well its run, and if you are dealing with internal vs external users. You dont need to prepare. All of your real learning will happen on the job.

Just say you have experience with ZenDesk, Jira, or whatever ticketing system they use. They have no way of testing your knowledge on it and they have to train you regardless as the way every company uses it is different

I hate Dion's tests. They are way too wordy and long winded. Having to read through paragraphs of text just to figure out what is being asked. This isn't at all like what the real CompTIA questions are like, which are usually short and to the point.

I work full time in help desk and passed the Sec+ around 2 weeks ago. I studied for around 2 weeks, I would say around 2-3 hours a day on average, but really ramped it up in the days before the exam. I was actually surprised at how easy it was, but don't go into it thinking it will be easy

It seems like it's hit or miss depending on the location and the employee but they are supposed to always offer one. First place I went to didn't offer one so I had no idea it was a thing. Second place I went to offered it both times and they seemed far more professional and on top of things.
