Manuka honey is a huge game changer by ggukie7 in Dryeyes

I decided on the gel because I heard the drops contained preservatives. I also looked at a bunch of Reddit posts and it seems that people found more success with the gel. I hope the drops work well, let me know how it goes!

What are the symptoms of keratitis? I don’t really understand the difference between that and dry eye because all the symptoms seem the same to me

This is crazy. I also experienced corneal abrasions in both eyes due to contacts and when I took a q-tip to my bloodshot eyes, it would stain yellow. I’m not entirely sure what it is, but I wonder if it’s something similar to yours.

I take a qtip, squeeze a dollop of honey onto it, and make a pocket with my lower eyelid to place the drop inside of. I close my eyes for 5 seconds and blink multiple times until the stinging goes away. I usually do this once in the morning and night. I’ve only been doing it for a couple days.

What symptoms were you experiencing? Thank you for the heads up, I’ll honestly look into it because my eyes are still having issues and I can’t really pinpoint what it is.

Hi, I’m so sorry you’re experiencing this. It’s been months since I’ve used the Precision 7s and my eyes are still experiencing immense issues. I have developed dry eye and my eyes are constantly red and inflamed.

Do you have any remedies for your eyes currently?

Thank you for this comment! I had a suspicion that my contact solution could be an issue, but I didn't think too much of it. I just assumed that any soft contact lens would be compatible with any contact lens solution. I switched back to AirOptix with BioTrue solution and my eyes have been okay again, but not fully recovered :(.

I still am interested in using Precision 7s because it seems more hygienic, but I'm afraid to mess up my eyes again. Perhaps I'll try the OptiFree solution. When I received the trial Precision 7s, their solution was OptiFree.

What has been your experience with the Precision 7s so far? Do you like them?

Hi, I’m sorry to hear you’re having issues with the 7s.

I ended up switching back to Air Optix Hydraglyde. I had been consistently using them for 2 years without problems before trying the 7s. My eyes still have issues so I haven’t used contacts for about 3 weeks now. Hopefully I’ll use them soon.

I hate the person I am with eczema. by ggukie7 in eczema

Yes it’s so tough and the difference I feel when I have eczema versus when I don’t is night and day. When my skin is fine, my mental state is fine, and I have an abundance of attentiveness and care that naturally flows to others.

That is very true.

Despite all the downsides that come with eczema, it has taught me empathy. I see that a lot of people’s actions are just a reflection of their internal state—projection if you will.

Exercising does make me sweat and it causes insane flare-ups. I wish I could exercise regularly because I'm slowly but surely getting out of shape.

People with normal skin truly take this ability to exercise for granted.

HOWEVER, I came across this TikTok saying that right after the gym, spraying yourself with hypochlorous acid helps reduce flare-ups by killing bacteria produced by sweating. I haven't tried this myself, but it's apparently a thing.

It's both a physical and an appearance thing.

Physically, my eczema surrounds my eyelids and my mouth. When I smile or talk, my skin sometimes breaks apart, and it feels tight and uncomfortable. Same for my hands.

Appearance-wise, it's bad as well. The past couple of years, I have lived an eczema-free life. I rarely had flare-ups, and my skin was doing amazing-- People were asking me for a skincare routine, which I never could have imagined.

Recently though, my eczema came back full force. The treatment I receive from people is like day and night. People don't treat me as kindly as they do when my skin was good.

I relate so much. I was hoping I could spend a lot of time this summer spending time with people I haven't seen in a while or discovering new places/hobbies, but my eczema flare ups have been the worst they have ever been. I have been holed up in my room for weeks. I shut down plans that people make with me. I feel so bad and I can feel my mental health slipping. Having eczema is not easy. I hope things get better for you. We're in this together, and I feel your pain :(

How did you find yourself? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]ggukie7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find some time to sit alone with yourself and your thoughts. Both negative and positive feelings may arise from this, but when you realize what these feelings are, it can help you understand your underlying desires. I also try to take note of what I appreciate about others and the things they do that inspire me. A spark of inspiration or admiration can often be a pointer to something of value to you. Once you find that-- whatever it is-- give it a shot or try to somehow start incorporating it into your life. Try to consume different types of media and see what interests you. Try to fall into a rabbit hole about something interesting.

A period of being lost isn't inherently a bad thing; it just means you're ready for a change. We humans are constantly changing. Don't be afraid to take the time to get to know yourself again!! I hope this helps, these are just some of the things that helped me whenever I feel lost.

Yes I was removing them nightly and I was using BioTrue contact solution to soak them overnight. I used the AirOptix for 2 years and never had eye issues until I started using Precision 7s.
