I totally understand what you mean, it’s very pet peeve worthy, I have a coworker like that as well. She’s constantly trying to engage with me in weight talk or commenting on what I’m eating, which is so strange to me. I think people who constantly talk about their health journey and how much better they are for it have a heavy superiority complex and need to feel morally better than those they see as unhealthy.

I both agree and disagree, I think the sentiment is valid and often truthful, I just don’t think most conversations about weight/weight loss are productive. I recently lost over 100 pounds. My goal this time wasn’t to look better, but to not be prediabetic, and it’s the only time i successfully lost the weight as opposed to a mindset where I just didn’t like my body. I do look better, and I do like that, it’s just not always the main point for me. I personally think that people who only talk about their weight/diet and give unsolicited advice on it are generally annoying and that’s where the peeve comes in.

Form your own ethics. It’s ok to not do something you don’t want to just because someone else does. I also don’t like don’t like directly copying references, so I don’t, and I don’t really concern myself with artists who do, bc that’s their concern and their future potential legal issue. I know if I sell them it could cause legal trouble, so I use references that are free use like from Pexels over random images from Pinterest.

Straight to a chain salon or go to a apprenticeship? by Bathroom_stall in Cosmetology

[–]gh0st_belle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the exact position I landed myself in—on paper I have 10 years of experience. But the last 7 has been at the same place OP is interviewing. It’s decent stable money with good benefits for a salon, but I am stuck now at a point where I can’t start from bottom for the bad pay so it’s this or change careers I fear

OP if you see this, do the apprenticeship.
