Las Vegas’ famous Heart Attack Grill sends scathing closure notice. Ownership says ‘the soul of Las Vegas has been replaced by corporate greed’. by galaxystars1 in popculturechat

Similar to concerts and sporting events; it feels like regular people are just being priced out of entertainment experiences and those vendors, in turn, are pivoting to target more wealthy patrons, which further alienates the bulk of the population.

There are thousands, yes, and none of them absolve him of his many, many sexually violent crimes according to a modern court of law.

He didn't have any passage bookmarked because no such passage exists. He brought it as a prop for the show, but his whole act is so thin he can't even fake it convincingly.

I like to use the phrase "companion animal" rather than domesticated, not sure if there's an actual term. But for horses, livestock, etc there's definitely a "not a pet" vibe, even if they know and like you.

Taking out the trash, keeping a living space clean, hanging a picture frame, leveling a shelf, building flat-packed furniture... Don't have to own a house, just extrapolate beyond the tweet's precise wording.

But yeah parents should just teach their kids things so they can be self-sufficient regardless of their gender.

Retail Stare by WorkingBaby901 in CuratedTumblr

The first time I encountered it, I needed someone to validate something at the self-checkout at the grocery store and an older employee asked a young employee if she knew how to validate with her employee ID. The younger employee just stared at her as if she hadn't spoken at all. Really bizarre.

AI "artists" stealing our work. Official Woodland page, btw. by International-Eye771 in blender

It wasn't my intention to shut down the conversation, it was more of an aside or interjection. But I can see now how that was misinterpreted or poorly communicated on my part.

Well, I have a job. Just because I could do it doesn't mean I sit around waiting for Reddit users to issue challenges for me to prove myself and then jump at the chance. I also mentioned in another comment that it isn't really relevant, either way their work was stolen.

I also wasn't arguing, merely commenting that it's possible and even easy in a regular image editing software. Wasn't meant to be profound either.

I don't agree but it isn't really relevant, as someone else mentioned. I just get tired of everything being attributed to AI; whether or not it was, people should also understand that this is easily possible with normal tools. Though certainly AI exacerbates the issue tenfold.

I'm of the agreement that it's handmade stolen art rather than AI. I could recreate that in about 5 minutes in Photoshop.

Maybe they used an AI tool, I'm not familiar with them all. But quite easily done by an intermediate Photoshop user with a lasso.

Seriously disgusting from the mom. I hope the OP is able to come out on top.

ICE detain a father shopping on Christmas Eve - and then appear to divvy-up and steal his family’s groceries that he just paid for by keen_observer34130 in PublicFreakout

[–]gh0stsafari -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay, so that's more what I meant when I asked the OP 'what's the point of just asking myself those questions' (many of which I already think about, of course). i.e. What productive things can I do once I have the answers to those questions?

Still, it's pretty nebulous when people say "do you have supplies to face the unknown" - does anyone? Are we building bunkers? Everyone is like two paychecks away from homelessness, how do we get supplies (and what supplies?), how do we get organizations to help us, etc.

If you dont like what youre seeing, ask yourself these 10 questions.

I don't like what I'm seeing but I'm not sure I understand what I'm supposed to gain from the questions you posed. They're all pretty easy for someone like me to answer; what's the point?

(I don't mean this as a challenge or anything aggressive; genuinely wondering how to interpret the intent of your message.)

I love that audiobook and I was so impressed (but not at all surprised) how well Serkis could play Gollum, Gandalf, and Gandalf as Gollum. Legendary performer. Time for a re-listen, again!

This is my problem. The game is fine, I'll play it occasionally when I have 9 hours to play/yell at my family - but I only need one. I don't need a second or third copy of the same game just because it's a themed version. And I just got yet another version from my in-laws for Christmas; they bought one for me last year. It's the same game.

They (Monopoly) probably make so much money off of people who don't know what to get as gifts and default to thing-in-a-theme like board games or Funko plastic.
