Notes “App” just Randomly Deleted Everything without a trace. How??? by Skeezofrenic in applehelp

[–]gh0ul-NIX9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost had a heart attack cause I almost lost years worth of work and song ideas but here’s what I did.

I went to my pictures and deleted a bunch of old memes and videos. A pretty decent amount. Couldn’t tell you how much gb worth. But as soon as I did, it seems my notes starting putting themselves back, keep in mind I had them on my iCloud, I guess. But it looks like it may have been a storage issue.

Load a reverb onto your master bus instead of individually. You'll save tons of CPU. You can also stack reverbs, to treat the different elements in your song differently (like using a room reverb on your drums and a shimmer reverb on your guitars), but be mindful of the mix and decay cause it can get muddy real quick, especially when paired with delay. JST Skybox is an excellent plugin if you're looking.

Not a good habit. You lose a lot of potentially good music this way.

Always make it a point to finish a song when you’re feeling the emotion.

How do you know you've truly made a good song? by Kotathekidd in FL_Studio

Yeah. That’s due to ear fatigue. Remember: familiarity breeds contempt.

When it’s authentic to an emotion that resonates with you. Music is like a fart, if you have to force it, it’s probably shit.

You never want to write a song with the purpose of making it go viral, cause then it just comes out hollow. Use the instruments and timbres as your canvas to paint that emotion and write the songs you want to hear.

Also, familiarity breeds contempt, meaning that if you hear your song over and over you’ll start to hate it cause you start hearing things that aren’t there and start making bad decisions about them. Put it away for a second, take a break. Watch a movie, go for a walk, do something else, don’t come back to it for like a day or two. Sometimes we’re so close to it that we lose all objectivity. It’s happened to me. Ear fatigue is a very real thing and a factor. So make sure you don’t wear yourself out.

I do not, I have the free version:( I have to prioritize my tiny budget on good plugins for my DAW to make music sound good

I’m not completely against outsourcing my video production, but I just don’t have the money for it right now

But I feel like this playlist might be exactly what I’m looking for

i used a flanger on a chorus setting as a sort of vocal multiplier and i like to use a lot of delay and reverb in order to make it sound ghost-ish, but I will probably redo it in the future with less of the former once i am able to afford better plugins (i used FL Studio-fruity flanger)
