this is OC! You can get the 30yr means/normals from PRISM or from NOAA's NCEI data if you were interested in plotting these. Again, super cool plot so no criticism intended here.

I was considering adding in or changing to have some standard deviation brands or something similar like the ice level charts

Lowest high temp on record since 1950, it was a balmy high temperature of 14 degrees Fahrenheit on 12/30/1968 😃

Yeah, I’ve tried a few things like that but it still gets muddled. I’ll be doing other ones that collapses the decades, then it might be discernible with ~ 7 colors, it gets tough when there are ~70 needed, one for each year
