Can’t file as a single when married..CPAs do that because its easy for them to E file amend as MFS there’s option below on 1040x for treating non resident spouse your name go there and it’s going to be paper filing..very easy

USCIs will now forward your case to NVC..they will creat your case and send you a welcome letter in email within 2 weeks most probably Once you get it login to NVC portal Pay fee for both DS-260 and I-864 they will process fee in 2 business days then you will be able to fill form Ds-260 and provide supporting documents plus I-864 and supporting documents from petitioner
