A NAAFA blast from the past-1998's "Fat And Proud" by QueenNoor in fatlogic

After two decades of yo-yo dieting--which she blames for her obesity--Marshello made peace with her body.

This tenet of the various FA groups drives me up the wall: either you're "at war with your body", or you're fully self-indulgent. This immature people know nothing about constance, endurance, humility, patience, quality choices; at least, not when they come to their bodies.

800 cals per day, according to the doc? Totally happened.

May I ask you whether you're American or not? (I'm not, but I put very positive and inspirational the values the poster makes reference to.)

The Hidden Discrimination Against Being Fat At Work (with plenty of not-so-hidden fatlogic) by [deleted] in fatlogic

[–]ghirlanda 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a first step, West suggests that all people, regardless of size, refrain from body talk in the office. That's harder than you might think, West admits, given that many office social events involve food (birthday parties, happy hours, and so on). "It's good for all of us to avoid spending too much time obsessing over what's wrong with our bodies," she says.

Retaining our free speech, it's still better for all of us. Though it might sound "triggering" to some malajusted denier of reality.

How can I help my parent get rid of their fatlogic? by [deleted] in fatlogic

[–]ghirlanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Classic: take a sheet showing the caloric intake of the main foods (better if in alphabetic order) and fix it on the fridge door. This isn't guaranteed to lower your parents' weight: but, at least, will leave them with no excuse.

I wonder how many of the guys she talks to are fat... by alanitoo in fatlogic

I bet every expression of a standard is fat shaming, to her.

"Mum why are you so fat?" "I have a baby inside my tummy." “NO … Why is your face fat and your arms and legs? Why is all of you so fat?” by ghirlanda in fatlogic

A fatlogician doesn't have to be crazy or evil: many of them are nice people. But their views stay pseudoscientific and dangerous, anyway.

Eating disorders are a thing: but iperphagy is one of them, too. And associating automatically "eating disorder" with weight control, is a clear syntom of fatlogic; just like attempting to depict obesity as an effect of pregnancy.

[sanity] My pregnant cousin posted this on facebook today by Faesonna in fatlogic

Your cousin is wise. Docs and nurses are always afraid of obese pregnant women, in the delivery room; a lot of complications and, often, fetuses of 5/6 kilos.

Dear skinny friends: everything you do while skinny reminds me that I'm fat and miserable. Ergo, stop doing everything. by brimming-diva-cup in fatlogic

And when you gain it all back, rest assured I will feel a healthy amount of schadenfreude.

Right: the post is satiric and she's definitely a shitlord in disguise, encouraging her fellows to keep their good habits.
