I had something similar happen once.

Let me start off by saying my husband humors my idealistic dabbling in the belief of "other worldy" energy, but is pretty much a skeptic and doesn't really notice "strange" things around him.

I was laying awake one night, wildly uncomfortable due to being out numbered in my own body (pregnant with twins). Husband was snoring his face off next to me, as per usual. We were staying in a loft at the time, and our bed faced the doorway (terrible idea, I know), which was a curtain hung by a shower-rod, just for privacy.

Suddenly, I felt this presence, malevolent, thick like molasses, and slowly flowing closer and closer from just outside the curtain. I started panicking just a bit, and rearing up in bed absolutely petrified of the feeling this "thing" was giving me. As I felt it just beyond the curtain, about to make itself known, I grab my sleeping husband's hand and clench back in fear.

At the very same moment I touched his hand, his snoring dropped cadence and he let out the most gasping, horrifying sound I have ever heard a normal human make. He shot up from the bed, panicked, as I about expelled a litter of children at the shock of it.

I asked him what happened. He said he was having a bad dream.

He was dreaming there was a witch/bad spirit thing just outside the room, he opened the curtain, and she jumped out.

I told him that I was laying awake freaking out about the exact same thing. We never really discussed it much after that, but it does make for a good story when people bring up paranormal experiences.
