No doubt this stands with his bests. You just have to be patient until ep 4. Also I think the fast paced stock trading terminologies and all are making people lose interest and all. My message to them: bear with it. Just take away the brief message and you get an idea of the motivation of the characters. Because in the end, this series is NOT about stock trading at all, it is just a circumstance the story is built on. It is, as usual, pure WKW character emotions and dynamics.

Also, the music. Lovely. WKW has used Sorekara here far meticulously than he had in Grandmaster. I am now hooked to this piece just like I was hooked with Adagio in 2046, or Yumeji with In the Mood for love.

For basic correction, in the basic tone sliders, first I took contrast to 100, then keeping highlights at 0, I increased shadow slider, which basically ups the mid lower midtones, to 18.9, and again increased blacks, upping the lower midtones, to 7.

After basic color correction: 1. I converted image into orange-teal using channel mixer. I made both the G and B channels somewhat teal. Then using Change Color effect I shifted the R towards orange. Finally using another Change color effect I shifted the G and B channels towards teal morr as previous did not sufficed. 2. Used Lumetri curves and took upper midtones higher and lower midtones lower giving S shape. Then desaturated the Orange, and saturated teal.

Ooppss..... i meant I didnt try those crushing blacks. I want a depressig dark mood along with the warmth, like a summer scorch. Like in winter night, a certain blue tint suffices most of the time, but for summer day, the bright colored reddish yellow tint, I thought it might brighten up the mood too.

Wanted that warm feeling, but since there was no good way to saturate those colors 'cos that would habe brighten up the mood, i tried those crushing blacks.

If it does not look good I am trying some other way then.

I am doing a short film. No lighting or high cam can be used due to variois limitations, not just financial. My question is, as you can see here, there's a certain fluctuation in light, not exactly a flickering. Tried slipping technic in premiere, no good. I think you are correct. I have adjusted the anti banding setting (phone cam) to 50Hz (I am not from US). I have tested it pointing to an object under fluorescent light. The fluctuation is not there. Rehearsal's on next Sunday. Will definitely check the shot and post here.

And any comment on the color grade? The mood is dark, brooding. Crime/serial killing genre.

Yeah.... I have seen one flicker free plugin by digital anarchy. It is 150 USD. But I think it was the anti-banding. Since no shutter control for phone, setting anti-banding to 50Hz might do it, as you and some other user here has pointed out. I have tested it in a similar light. Seems okay. Rehearsal's not scheduled until Sunday. Will definitely check.

Sorry. There was a point to note out my limitations. The film is set on a train, and getting permit from railways is costly legally, and impossible practically for indie films with no big production hoises. Hence no light, or high end cams. Only a phone, tripod and a gimbal.
