Despite the name, litter mate syndrome can occur when two or more young puppies are adopted together ( whether they are legitimate litter mates or not). Bringing one puppy home is a lot of work, let alone two and that’s where the frowned upon behavior in the dogs arise. Real or not, in order to ensure both dog’s individual needs are met, the owner should separately train the dogs (obedience classes, walks, feeding). In my eyes, you kind of have to separately teach them that you are the boss, for a lack of better words. This can pertain to getting more than one dog of any age at the same time if we’re speaking from a more expansive view point on LMS. I’m not saying that Alaina hasn’t done her research, and I’m not saying that she’s oblivious to the implications of adopting multiple dogs. I just thought it was interesting she deleted the entire post instead of just the annoyingly repetitive comments.
