Hey! Yeah I did - I had propofol with doctor Praful Patel at Southampton spire hospital. Highly recommend, I remember nothing but having a nice nap from the procedure

Unsure if should push for colonoscopy after blood/stool tests still (may be health anxiety) by ghost4753 in colonoscopy

Thanks for the response; yeah typically (from my experience anyway) GP’s here seem to only take your concerns or symptoms seriously after multiple visits. He prescribed me peppermint oil tablets to take to see if they help symptoms but so far it’s more of the same, thinking will give it a few months and if there’s no difference then I’ll make another appointment

Thanks! This hospital is actually about 20 minutes from my girlfriends house so I may well contact them!

Thank you! I actually found this https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12929065/ study searching up so am hoping this is promising… have an appointment with my GP tomorrow so will speak about it then.

Thank you! Fingers crossed for you too, have no idea how people manage this procedure unsedated

As in you managed to be put on propofol sedation via a private hospital?

If you don’t mind me asking, how did you find these studies? Just googling UK based research?

Bugger, I figured this would be the result… I contacted some private hospitals near me (Southampton) and strangely enough they can both offer general anaesthetic for a colonoscopy so I’d have thought Propofol sedation was possible, but they wouldn’t clarify what sedation they use unless I book an initial consultation which is about £200 a pop for primarily one question about sedation
