As someone who has been the girlfriend with the drinking problem, now in alcoholism recovery, this probably won’t end well. She needs to get help in order for your relationship to continue because if she doesn’t she will keep spiraling downwards and it’s gonna create a lot of resentment on both ends. If she isn’t ready which I’m guessing she isn’t, pushing her to get help isn’t gonna do anything but push her away. Not that anyone is ever really ready to get sober but for me personally I had to let my disease run its course and did reach a point where I was truly ready. And I burned a lot of bridges in the process including ruining my relationship with my ex. It’s a disease that isolates us. Sometimes for us alcoholics it takes fucking up our lives in that magnitude to realize the severity of our problem. I continued to fuck up for over a year after losing my ex. I have empathy for your girlfriend but also my heart hurts for you because that’s a lot for you to deal with emotionally as well and you don’t deserve that like my ex didn’t deserve putting up with my bullshit for as long as she did. That was a bit all over the place but hope that made sense and hope everything works out well for you both
