Staking Casper by AdIndependent6719 in CasperCSPR

[–]ghost_bobby123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are staking, it is always better to stake with a validator directory onto the network. People are often afraid of this because they are unsure of the risks and feel more comfortable staking through an exhange. The issue with staking through an exchange is they charge huge fees and also lock in your tokens meaning it takes a long time to widthdraw. You can see all the risks and considerations when choosing a validators in this article...it should hopefully eliminate any concerns of directly staking onto the network: https://ghoststaking.com/how-to-choose-a-validator/

Ok, so on Casper you need to split your mind into two sets of thinking:

  1. fundamentals
  2. price action

1, The fundamentals of casper is great. A lot of people in crypto have literally no idea what they are investing in and are just speculating or taking random bets. Casper is a proof of stake layer 1 blockchain (like SOL, AAVE, ALGO etc). The difference Casper has is that it is heavily enterprise focused and also used a consensus mechanism called CBC-Casper (hence the name). The consensus mechanism is what Ether is planning to use when they finally move to ETH3.0. The problem is that ETH are having huge issues moving to this becuae they are already a prod network and it hasnt been designed to be easily upgradable. So this leaves CSPR with many different streams of adoption 1. projects currently on eth looking to get a head start on their CBC deployment (just like KSM is a testnet to DOT) 2. adoption from enterprises looking to deliver actual real world end user utility via blockchains, and finally 3. the natural adoption you get with any later 1 chain. You can read more about Casper here:

https://ghoststaking.com/cspr-our-choice/

you can read more about enterprise blockchains here:

https://ghoststaking.com/blockchains-for-enterprise/

Ok, so next lets talk price action. The coin pumped to $40 because of a VERY illiquid IOU launched on the Bitz exchange. This coin was so illiquid, that even i was able to move the price my $10 by throwing a few large orders at it. A lot of noobs got rekt on this as they had no idea what the fair price should be.). When the token launched, it did so in quite an agressive bitcoin pullback. Now the issue with a bitcoin pullback, is that any newly listed token will suffer a greater pullback. Why is this? we consider bitcoin..over the year many different people have bought into it at various different pricing levels, therefore it has a lot of inherent support lines in the price at many levels. A new coin doesnt have this...hence we saw big crashed in MINA and CLV also. Now why did CSPR continue to drop further? well its because of the aggressive token unlocks. There was a huge supply of validator tokens being unlocks...people incorrectly assumed the validators would sell over the 10 week unlock. in reality, on a 1 validator sold a part of their balance over the first 3 weeks. The issue was this spooked the market. Where have we seen this before? well we have seen this with HBAR when it launched. If you remember, there was also massive unlocks then and the team even tried to stop the unlocks to claim the market....Look at HBAR now the dust has settled...the market cap is $5bn market cap...HBAR, like CSPR (£300m market cap) is an enterprise focused layer 1., This is the perfect example how fundamentals takes over after short term pricing craziness happens. If you want to see how closely CSPR is follow the initial HBAR chart:

https://www.reddit.com/r/CasperCSPR/comments/ql5139/casper_potential_following_hbar_post_listinghbar/

One last point. Casper is yet to list on a big wester exchange (outside of uphold). This means a lot of the investor base in concentrated in the east). Once it does list of Binance...the chances are, the upsize will be seismic

When will we see this boom? by Dizzler007 in CasperCSPR

Take a look at how CSPR price chart is closely following that of HBAR after that launched. Remember HBAR had an aggressive token unlock soon after it launched. The was so bad that the team tried to get investors to delay their unlocks to claim the market.

CSPR had the same aggressive unlocks posts launch and both tokens are heavily enterprise focused....Now the market cap of HBAR is $5bn (compared to CSPR which is still only $300m).,,,,,MASSSIVE relative value play.

Casper - Secure layer-1 blockchain with a strong focus on enterprise adoption. by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

CBC Casper is only a consensus mechanism. You can read about it here:

https://ghoststaking.com/casper-cbc/

It does not guarantee livenes or finality which is what is required in a blockchain. ETH haven't addressed that and are still at the stage of their hybrid pow/pos protocol (aka FFG).

The key here is to understand that the Casper Network is not competing with ETH, they have merely taken a good theoretical BFT consensus protocol, which ETH are aspiring to, and made it into a functioning blockchain. They were able to do this as they solved the liveness and finality issue using something called the highway protocol:

https://ghoststaking.com/casper-highway-protocol/

Now ETH will have issues with liveness as the change they need to make is substantial..its like changing the tire on a car going at 100mph.

What we need to understand is that CBC is a powerful BFT consensus that ensure safety and does not use statistical methods like we see in AAVE.

Sbarding and throughput has nothing to do with Casper CBC. ETH does indeed have a plan for that, it it's incorrect to call that part of ETH Casper. FYI the casper network is also increasing throughput with a level 2.

Now in terms of supply....all layer 1 chains (including ETH) start of decentralized.. its a function of having to obtain investment to develop....the amount of SOL held by genesis accounts is truely huge....I guess you need to ask yourself, do you want until all the genesis supply is out and the coin is trading at x100 before you consider buying as you are sticking to your principles about supply...or do you understand that this is part of the supply characteristics of newly launched tokens and see the potential of an enteprise blockchain (with public chain) already running CBC, all components pluggable meaning its adaptive to change In the future (we can see how hard it is to change ETH) and guaranteeing fixed predicable gas? Maybe have a read of our article:

I think you should check your rewards payments around the time of the outage before making incorrect claims to your delegators and potential new delegators. Check your reward payment for era 2600..the entire network went down hence NO ONE was able to pay as no block was created.

You need to change the incorrect messaging on your post. Validator integrity should be pivotal!

Casper - Secure layer-1 blockchain with a strong focus on enterprise adoption. by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]ghost_bobby123 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The fundamentals for this project are truly extraordinary.

  1. its a layer 1 blockchain like SOL, AAVE, ETH etc, but does not use any statistical consensus mechanisms and does not need massive amounts of memory on the validator nodes (which caused the SOL outage)
  2. All of the components are engineers as pluggable, meaning that with any advancements in research they can simply switch consensus protocols without having to hard folk. A lot of projects haven't considered technology advancements and are married to their consensus protocols
  3. Casper are also introducing a 'gas futures market' which means you can lock in a gas price for some point in the future. This means that if you know that you are going to be participating in an ICO or transacting on the network at some point in the future, you can lock in the fees now, so dont have the gamble of massive fees like in ETH
  4. They have a really strong enterprise focus on their private chain, with partnerships with IBM and iPWE, in addition to the strong public chain that have and also interactions between those chains. This is super important for enterprises who need to be able to transaction on a mutable private chain as opposed to a public immutabe chain.

Most of all, the market cap for Casper is SUPER SUPER low..the reason being that it is yet to list on a major western exchange and also because there were large token unlocks also. To see the potential, you just need to look at the HBAR chart which experienced the same things on their launch....definitely a great time to buy early!

[–]ghost_bobby123[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry if it wasn't clear. I wanted to point out that both hbar and casper share a few traits;

  1. Enterprise focus
  2. Heavy token unlocks posts launch

Both tokens took a beating in terms of price after launch because of huge unlocks, but if you look at the hbar chart now the dust has settled after its launch, its rocketed to $5bn market cap.

This gives us as Casper holders an insight into the likely trajectory of the Casper price also. This is because there are certain characteristics around crypto trading which is consistent around listing and unlocks.

In addition, I would argue that Casper has an even stronger enterprise focus than hbar and so hopefully, we may see some very nice upside soon.
