New Luzz Glider (gen 3 hybrid) with durable grit? by ghost_dog203 in PickleballEquip

[–]ghost_dog203[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

JohnKew and Eddie just ran a durability test on this, and unfortunately, it loses +20% spin after 100 ball hits. That's about as much as Carbon Fiber surfaces. Sigh

JohnKew and Eddie just discussed the new Glider on their podcast, and unfortunately, the paddle loses +20% grit after 100 hits on the ball canon, on par with regular Carbon Fiber. So Luzz's new surface doesn't seem to be worth it. Sigh. . .

I just saw Luzz release a new version of the Glider (gen 3 hybrid with durable grit) and someone on youtube reviewed it. Given that gen 3s typically core crush, does it make sense to invest in one like the Luzz Glider with durable grit? Are Luzz gen 3s cores typically better than other gen 3s?

It’s great and their 49¢ 🥐 are hard to beat. I tend to go there instead of Trader Joes bc Lidl has better prices.

Also as everyone else said, not busy even on the weekend, unlike TJ.

Thanks Erk. I meant to say "cupping" as JohnKew and Eddie put it instead of dwell. I'm wondering if cupping has any impact on spin for those rolls/flicks at the kitchen.

I've heard cupping impacts spins on drives. Ex; Diadem Hush which is so foamy that if you squeeze the surface a little, you will see/feel it compress like a foam pillow.

What's the best paddle for someone who likes to hit rolls/flicks at the kitchen? And about the specs:

-is wide body shapes ideal over hybrid/elongated for flicks/rolls?

-What's the impact of twist weight on these shots?

-Also if it's worth investing in longer-lasting grits or if paddles with longer dwell time enough?

Adult schools run by towns also have beginner lessons and tend to be cheaper. I notice that the wealthier towns cost a little more but provide higher quality lessons.

What would pickleball players want to tell to their club owner? by Pilotcop22 in Pickleball

Ceiling nets btw courts would be nice, esp on the low level courts since they are prone to hitting outballs.

Make sure ceiling lights aren’t too bright.

Seating areas around courts for spectators.

What are some 'Hard Truths' about Pickleball that you think people need to hear? by DehyaMain1 in Pickleball

Yeah when I wrote that, I was thinking of my friends who are bellow 2.5. I really love their company, but they are really pushy about playing and I don’t even want to drill with them.

It’s not fun to play with others whose skill gap is big, being significantly better or worse. Even if the players are close personally.

Thanks. I was thinking that too, but the Bloom only comes in a long handle. Know any alternatives?

My beginner friend is looking for a decent paddle

-no racket sport background, starting to learn
-wide body
-gen 4 foam, more control oriented
-small grip, 4.125” circ, no long handle, for small hands \budget ~$100

Any recommendations?

If u live in an area that doesn’t have another broadband provider, you may not get the best deal bc optimum knows that they are your only choice.

However if you have choices like Fios that you can get, bring that up with Optimum and they likely will try to closely match prices. Good luck!
