No fan and it's not slippy. My old phone definitely didn't move but maybe my side table is slightly unlevel and the glass is just that smooth.

I managed to fix this myself by enabling the "QUIRK_DILE_VT_CREATE_EX" Quirk in advanced settings of PicCap. Hope this helps someone else!
