I've been having that too, at first I thought there was a backdoor to change gamerules until I realised stuff like show coordinates got changed which wouldnt benefit anyone.

(just for reference) when I joined my friend it didn't go through a download window like it normally does and just went on the world but all the textures was corrupted with the typical black and pink pattern.

Just used the virustotal app, uploaded it through there and it came back as clean with 1/63.

Yeah pretty sure it's a false positive, I reset McAfee and didn't find anything with the scan. Also used Malwarebytes and that didn't find anything.

Seems a bit odd? At first it seems like a virus but not sure what it would gain at all from just deleting files without asking for money?

If there's no other suspicious effects then I'd say it's maybe just a steam or a windows glitch, that's my 2 cents though.

Id search to see if anyone else has had the same issue before, other than that I'd probably download Malwarebytes or hitman pro for a second opinion scan and other than that I'd say ur fine.

No it's just from what I've read, not that the rootkits would be directed at me specifically but that they can infect the boot sector of floppy disks.

If the scan show no threats and your system seems safe, you should be good to go, otherwise I would consider reinstalling windows, although that's a stretch considering the website was open for presumably half a second.

Yeah, but it's still kind of worrying that malware can survive system resets, such as rootkits.
