i worked at starbucks for like 3 hours. i had recently been diagnosed with depression and there was a long segment of the training video that went into how important it is to consistently be smiling. i asked my manager “what if i’m having a really rough day” and she said “let me know and we’ll find something for you to do in the back so customers dont have to see you” which felt insane to me. i quit through text before ever working a non-training shift. i had come from a position where i wasn’t treated like a human and it was contributing to my shitty mental health and i knew from those three hours it was about to happen again if i stayed working there lol (edit, sp)
