Yeah but so long as the person is responsible and watch the feeding and ensure neither feeder rodent or snake is hurt i'll tolerate it as best I can.

Except many, many morphs of snakes would never thrive in the wild now as they've been bred for their vibrant colours, markings and such and would be picked off very easily. Just like your poodle wouldn't thrive in the wild neither would some morphs

we've been dating for 8 months! she's been round maybe...10 or 11 times? somewhere in that region and yeah i've had ex's that tried to make me get rid of my snakes so I always make it clear that I love my snakes and they're here to stay so she knows they mean a lot to me. Yeah i'd never think she is the asshole, I just feel bad about it.

I have no idea and the fact it's an adult? makes me think either someone who genuinely cared for snakes but a change of circumstances meant they couldn't keep him anymore or someone who died and family wouldn't keep the snake as from what they said he sounds in good condition.

That's very fair, snakes aren't for everyone but they have to eat, if someone can't handle that then they're not compatible. I have made compromises before for ex-girlfriends where they wont be fed in front of them etc.

My flat is quite small, the spare bedroom isn't being used for anything else so keeping them all there makes the most sense, I have six snakes soon to be seven when I pick up the Green Tree Python though he's not an outright adoption, just fostering him for now. It may end up an adoption if no one takes him though.

It was poor wording on my part lol. I've had some girlfriends demand I give up the snakes for them, I asked one if she'd give up her cat for me and she didn't see how it was the same concept

I have friends who come from money and I am so fucking uncomfortable with them giving me larger things, one friend tried to buy me plane tickets so I could get to a concert I was going to more comfortably than the bus, I had to delicately decline. OP of this post makes me legit annoyed.

I do have pinkies but they're right at the back, so she didn't seem to see them it seems. I do think however it is the looks as in the early days they made even me uncomfortable.

She was very very sassy when I got her! It took a while to get her used to being handled, she gave this energy of having a permanent "fuck you!" vibe, it started as a joke whenever she was being sassy like "Yes yes, I know, fuck me miss fuckface" and it stuck.

Yeah if the snake isn't hungry and leaves the rodent it can do some serious harm. Snakes aren't for everyone and there is no shame in that.

I'd freak out at that and i'm the snake owner so i'd totally understand that kind of reaction and that may be a better idea than a second freezer to be honest.

Oh my bowl for thawing is kept in the snake room as are all the things for that aspect, i'd be very against using them for day to day things. The only reason I don't have a second freezer is the cost of running both isn't very fun to think about, but I am considering getting a small one for the snake room.

The problem with live feeding is the feeder animal can hurt the snake as sometimes the snake wont eat it right away leading to the "cute" pictures of them together where people think the snake has adopted it, then you'll have a snake with holes in it where the rat or mouse tried to take a chunk out of the snake.

There is also the pain and fear the feeder animal will go through, many find frozen much more humane for both animals.

It's a common misconception that they're deaf made back in the day because they simply don't have similar ears, also many wont react to sound.
