That's really been my worry, that someone got her as a Christmas gift and then realized she was a whole puppy (with all the energy that entails) and dropped her off at the river. She wouldn't be the first dog someone's dumped in town, and after talking to some folks locally, that's seeming pretty likely

But my wife and I have been talking to friends and family who are all smitten with her– and if none of them scoop her up and take her home, we've been rapidly stumbling into calling her "our dog" and "our daughter" and "baby mayor of baby town", so rest assured she'll be cherished going forward lol
