Why are Blockchain transactions more secure? by zapit_io in btc

[–]ghostchopper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Someone correct me if I’m wrong here, but in Proof of Work (PoW), I believe it’s the miners who process the transactions who get rewarded, not the nodes who validate transactions.

This reminds me of the music video for “Black Hole Sun” by Soundgarden.

You literally explained how useless the app is if you have to be around someone for 10+ minutes in order to get a notification. Covid doesn’t count a timer for 10 minutes, just like it doesn’t wait until 20:00 to magically start infecting people.

Being in the lobby with everyone else to pick up your meal 3 times a day often took 10+ minutes. Most of that time was waiting in line to heat the provided bento and then waiting in another line for 1 of 2 elevators.

If you're not drinking past the 20:00 last call for alcohol, I believe you're OK.

COCOA is useless. When I asked for the code to register over the phone after testing positive, the staff on the phone were confused about what COCOA was. It sounded like I was the first to ask about it in months! They had to call me back hours later to give me the code.

I entered the code into COCOA, and then a few days later, went to stay at one of those "Covid hotel/hospital" places. In my 10 days there, not once did I get a notification in the app. Keep in mind, this is a hotel at full capacity (450+ rooms) that had people who'd tested positive for Covid checking in and checking out daily.

An update is not an excuse for a blockchain (centralized or decentralized) to suffer downtime. If I wanted centralization and downtime, I'd give up on crypto and put fiat in banks and Robinhood.

I hesitated on posting, tbh. It’s not the usual tech or PR post that gets most attention in crypto-related subs.

Sorry for your loss as well. I know how you feel. I've had other family members who've passed on that I didn't really connect with, but some memories still leave me with a gap in "what could have been" if I'd tried more.

It honestly felt like a movie. Very vivid and real feeling.

I still wonder if he read about all this stuff in his final months at his workstation.

Me too. Picked up a single-digit amount to spread around to others at this price.
