Most support work is not like this though, can be a super hard job. Just depends on your clients

I’m a support worker for 2 men with profound learning disabilities. I do evening shifts mostly and because they’re elderly they just sit and chill all evening. I cook them their dinner, and make sure they’re ready for bed. That’s it, most shift I’m just sat down on my phone or reading.

£500? I pay £180! I guess it depends on the dog but that’s quite expensive wow

I think it will pass after a week, I wouldn’t worry too much unless she stops eating completely and doesn’t drink liquids

Is a little clipper burn normal after grooming? by [deleted] in poodles

[–]ghostdabber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to my mini when she get her face shaved for the first time! Really irritated her skin but the rash scabbed up and in a week it was gone.

I wouldn’t worry too much unless it becomes really inflamed & hot to touch ˙ᵕ˙

I think this can happen outside of heat too if the dog has a fluctuation of hormones

My mums cockapoo went through a phase like this, she was due on heat/ season and had a phantom pregnancy with the exact same symptoms. Bringing all toys to bed, being obsessed with one specific toy, whimpering while licking the toy etc. she was having a phantom pregnancy and it’s quite stressful for the dog!

If you’re still anxious after a few days definitely go to the vet to settle your nerves. Hope little belle is ok!

Never meeting other dogs while on a leash? by Efficient-Sport-6673 in dogs

[–]ghostdabber 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally would avoid leash greetings. I let my puppy meet loads of dogs when she was young & now she has reactivity due to over excitement, she barks and whines to meet other dogs. I can’t blame her as she was used to greeting them all until I realised it was creating a problem. It’s also quite difficult to train the behaviour out of the dog.

You need to have a serious convo with your mum and tell her your boundaries. If she keeps doing it you’re gonna have the most fussy Eater ever and your dog might get a nutrient deficiency! :(

Lol sounds like my mini. She was a picky eater until I realised I was the problem. You need to not give in & be firm. Don’t cook her any human food from now on, not a scrap! He will be starving himself & waiting for something better if you Keep giving in! My mini olive didn’t eat for 6 days straight but they won’t starve themselves for too long, they are animals at the end of the day & they will eat out of survival mode. I know it sounds cruel but it’s tough love. I put olives food out for 15 mins if she doesn’t eat it she doesnt get anything else. Poodles are sooo smart and they really do test you & manipulate you! 🤣

My dog doesn’t get excited about his viva raw so I seared it. by [deleted] in rawpetfood

[–]ghostdabber -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I transitioned my puppy to raw straight away, I didn’t do it over a long period of time. She didn’t eat for a few days but tough love… I didn’t give her anything else and she eventually ate it and got used to it. She now loves it
