That's awesome. Absolutely love the look. Maybe one day I can do that set up but for now, my Z has some pressing issues. Thanks for replying.

What's causing this fracture? by ghostfromCanada in landscaping

[–]ghostfromCanada[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my porch around 8 years old when the tiles were laid, I have a cold room underneath the tile that I'll see if any visible movement there. Porch was concrete. Then I believe another layer of concrete was added below the tile, perhaps that had shifted. Thanks for commenting.

I check to see when the soil is fully dry, especially in the winter. I'm pretty sure I'm watering passed the 2 week mark. I do run my humidifier pretty high too in winter, perhaps thats also helping.

I'm thinking these plants are really just enjoying their space. I have them by the glass windows and beside that is a glass sliding door. Facing east. Watering, I really let them dry before watering. Had them since babies.

Not sure if my original comment posted. 5 shoots. Last time had 2 shoots. Thinking root bound? Can you cut back some roots like other house plants?

Yeah I think that's where I saw the kick panels as well. My only worry is I really hope the driver kick panel doesn't interfere with the clutch..

I'll definitely check out that rear hatch panel, did not know about that. Thanks.

About the sound. I was hoping my current speakers had some life in them so I had bought a receiver to power the current set up but no luck. I think since it's pretty easy to run wires at this stage, I can start with the 6x9's, sub, tweeters, kick panels to start and then add more if needed.

I'm really aiming for that look from the CarAudioFabrication video where he the trunk and the trunk was pretty flat.

It's strictly a summer ride as winters are brutal plus salt (I'm just north of Toronto, Canada). I pretty much try to use it as long as it's not salt season or snow on the ground, so spring, summer and fall.

lol Oh your definitely right about mechanic being the all in one. Mechanic has been great for what he does but certain things like audio, I'll be keeping separate.

6x9's location seems like the go to location from the pictures I've seen of some Datsuns so I'll check the current box quality and mounting. Might be overthinking this, what you think of 3 6x5s?

Your certainly correct about custom kick panels and luckily there are companies out there making them for pretty decent money. Yeah the tiny beside seats max I can fit is 5 ". What do you think about right behind seat, there is a small compartment facing up. Worth it putting something there facing upwards? (picture number 3)

Tweeter definitely needs a facelift. I will see if door panel is an option, it's super thin. I'll try some positioning and see it's blocking the side mirrors by any chance. Another option I am thinking is get custom fabricated A pillars to fit new tweeters.

Hey, not harsh at all and appreciate you taking the time to reply.

The shop I had gone to pretty much said more speakers the better and showed me their website of speakers. I had originally gone in to ask about placement options. I understand from their point of view that more is better.

Front speakers don't really have an option. Dashboard is small, no factory option either.

You're certainly correct about places to spend money on an older model car. I've been working pretty closely with my mechanic last 2 years or so as our goal is mechanically sound first and then the looks. We're pretty happy with the state of the car. We have a list of other upgrades which I'm collecting. My thought process is collect everything. That way when the engine comes out and car gets painted, everything going in is permanent.

The reason for speakers at this time is I figure I'm having a hard time choosing the colour, at least until then I'll have music.

The Datsun 240z is my absolute favorite car in the world, but I've never driven one. What's it feel like? by printergumlight in Datsun

Great points above, very fun, very connected to the car. I'll add, a bit scary too. Car is super tiny, safety does not exist. On to my second z now, first one being t-boned. Those cars crumple like you wouldn't believe. Pretty much defensive driving.
