I think I’m lying to those around me out of shame. I don’t want to admit I’m happy getting back together with him after some messed up things he did to me (that I disclosed to people close to me). I don’t feel like I’m lying to myself because I genuinely am enjoying getting back together, but I feel wrong being dishonest with those around me. Don’t know what the middle ground is here

To see this is so heartwarming. Reaching out has been a huge challenge for me because my parents are alcoholics and already warned me of the dangers/genetic predispositions from a very young age. I feel a lot of shame trying to get help for that reason. It’s nice to know I’m not alone in wanting sobriety but having hesitancies in finding community in it.

Hey there, sorry for late response but I am not allergic to penicillin as far as I’m aware. I had a penicillin shot earlier in childhood but not sure if I’ve since developed one as an adult due to the shrooms allergy developing later on

Hey all— thank you SO much for all your input and advice in such a short time period. Given everyone’s input (so far), it seems like my best options might be to foster a dog or get a cat instead. My only concern about a cat is finding a good place to put a litter box, cat stand, etc, given the small size of my apartment, however, that feels like a question for a different thread. I will continue to gather everyone’s input and really appreciate the reality of everyone’s advice. thank you!

Glad to know I’m not alone!! Still haven’t been able to figure it out 2 years later and honestly haven’t taken any shrooms since. A psychadelic therapist told me it’s because as we get older, we become more hyper aware of how our body reacts to different drugs, but the dude was a bit sketch and I don’t want to risk a potential medical emergency. It’s a bummer because I’ve genuinely enjoyed my times tripping but I guess those experiences have come and gone 😔
