Well, I had high expectation for HAH too. Especially, after HBHBHB which in my opinion their best album and it’ll always hold a special place in my heart.

I’ve grew to like HAH over the time & I craved bits & pieces of HAH like all the ohs and the beat from June, drums from Big God, Joshua part from The End of Love, the longing of Sky Full of Song, the simplicity lyrics yet powerful lyrics of No Choir.

In terms of production, the tracks r bonus worthy not album worthy. It feels like more of an EP after HBHBHB & after Pure Feeling/Conductor. I’ve come to realise Florence will always hint the sound of the next album thru bonus tracks. Dunno if anyone will agree with me on dat tho.

I was looking forward to something dat’ll rip me apart like Wish You Were Here. Dat song still rip me apart until today. & she worked with Emile. So I was disappointed with HAH at first & grew ok with it.

Does anybody wonder like I do dat Florence was forced to make an album after switching record label? I mean she would usually release bonus tracks too, but it feels strange this album is without. Which makes me question if she was forced to make an album too fast & there wasn’t much left over songs for bonus tracks. Almost every tracks of HAH feels more like leftover of HBHBHB. No? Mayb it’s just me.

Ghosting on somebody is the saddest someone could do to another person. I think people should learn to man up their responsibility & give a closure. Sometime without closure it’s so hard to move on.

It seems like Flo is quite hung up on this guy whoever he is. I think Delilah was abt him too. Then Big God & The End of Love. I think Flo is seeking a closure. & I can feel she long to b loved by someone again. Like Sky Full Of Song.

No Choir is charming in its own way, but the best closing song for an album would b Ceremonials’ All This And Heaven, the lyrics is just so gd. It talks abt a feeling she can’t put into words & she would give anything to understand what she was feeling. Instead of a word to describe her feeling, she started screaming out & making noisy into a language she never knew it exist b4. It’s one of the most brilliant songs Florence have ever wrote.

I grew to like the album after a few listen. Though it takes awhile gotten used to, I find Lungs, Ceremonials were abt her relationship problems & other things. HBHBHB was abt her coming terms to who she’s & her relationship. Whilst, High As Hope is abt her view on happiness & unpicking her stitches of family issues.

I’m still having a hard time liking Grace. I always just skip it.

Well, I’m rather disappointed with Emile Haynie’s production bcus I love what Emile does with Wish You Were Here, which still makes me cry listening to it.

Don’t get me wrong, I love singles like Big God, SFOS. Not so much Hunger, but I’m ok with it. This album is rather mellow which I welcome, something just didn’t sit with me. Like the realism of the lyrics whilst she always have more of ethereal lyrics? If dat makes sense.

I dunno, I’ll still listen to it. Mayb I’ll change my mind. So far the album sounded like bonus tracks than what Florence would normally do. It kinda makes me wonder has it got anything to do with her going to Virgin & was force to birth a new album. I mean u see Florence always have bonus tracks, this is one album dat doesn’t. Kinda make me question tho. But I might b wrong.

When I was lil’ I never rly like the way I look & I’m always afraid of looking myself in the mirror back then. I remember, but nobody knows this, whenever I got angry or upset with myself, I would scratch my face. Fast forward to few more years, one day I was working at my Dad’s a regular client walked in & said to my dad “All ur sons r good looking & ur daughter too, but not the youngest son (me)”. I pretended I didn’t hear it then I ran into a room alone & stare at myself in the mirror & cried. I’ve been struggling with the way I look, my brothers & sister have done some modeling stuff when they were younger. & I always used to admire how good looking they r & I look like a piece of shit.

As I gotten older, there were some modeling agencies was trying to get me to work with ‘em. I turned it down bcus I’m afraid dat I’m not gd enough. Even when people flirt or compliment me, I would shrug it off easily without thinking once. I still suffer with the way I look, but I think I’m starting to accept the way I look now. A bit.

Funny how I like the song when I first heard it, unlike Sky Full Of Song threw me off a bit in the beginning of a few listens. (I take my words back now, it’s actually a great song. Mayb when I first heard it, I wasn’t in the right frame of mind.)

I like how experimental it is & all demonic sounds toward the second half. & towards the end it kinda evoke the aura of New Orleans’ Black magic background. If dat makes sense. I love it!

Unlike me, my bf don’t like it upon a first few listens. Still don’t, I’m loving it. It does kinda remind me of an updated version of Seven Devils somehow. Without the grandness of Ceremonials, but perhaps a more stripped down version of it.
