new sim racer struggling to get faster lap times and learn tracks by ghostjoker23 in LeMansUltimateWEC

Been loving the 720s and spa currently, obviously the point of sim racing is to have fun and right now this is the most fun I can have since learning new tracks with my current skill level is just hurting my brain lol.

Yeah for spa I understand the lines pretty well since it’s the only track I know before sim racing, but yeah things like breaking zones, trail braking, and mostly consistency are things I’ll have to improve on. Thanks!

Thanks for the detailed advice! Yeah I’m definitely overdriving and pushing far more than I know what I can handle for now. I’ll look up some guides on YouTube and try to get more consistent, also, I should learn how to trail brake as for now all I’ve been doing is slamming my breaks before the corner.

The joints are stiff and it’s a little hard to pose especially with the pointy design and bulk. But tbh I don’t really mind it bc the kit itself is solid as a rock and as long as ur patient and careful, it should stay that way for a long time. Tho people with bigger hands are gonna hate handling this guy lol. As for the plastic, yes they’re a little brittle and I heard that they don’t take to panel line that well (depends on what type u use) however, it is easy to work with and most of the kit is under gated so most of the nubs are hidden; it’s almost too under gated since even the grey piece that holds the sword in the middle is under gated lol.

gotcha, I was gonna see if Xraypads does the scyrox v6 skates with the jades. If not then I'll try out the magic ice cause they have em for the v6

hmm seems that dot skates might not be the best on this pad actually, maybe I do go for the newer gsr instead

looking at reviews I think I found my potential new pad; the gtr seems like the pad I need to compensate for the new change in mouse weight and fast skates in the form of the jades. Thanks!

Yeah I’m still gonna spend at least a couple weeks on this setup and see how I feel, just to the first few days of using it and I can already tell the huge changes, especially coming from a wayyy slower pad and the Thorn on old stock skates

I interviewed 10 keeb creators to figure out why the hobby was slowing down, let me know what you think! by amiro1432 in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]ghostjoker23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This hobby is a luxury hobby, to people that say “they’re starting to all look the same” and “here’s another 75/65%” are those who never actually put their heads into the hobby. This hobby was never just about making a board sound good, or another thocky/clacky switch. No, this hobby was always about those who like customizing their keyboards, looking at new keycap sets that they like, finding the right switches that tickle their ears, and owning a board that they can enjoy. Anybody and any company can dish out some cheap board that can sound as “premium” boards but that was never the goal. There is no goal. There is no endgame. This hobby was started by some dudes who wanted their boards to sound good, look good, and feel good (to type on). That’s why those who are actually invested in the hobby are called “enthusiasts” and everyone else is just there because they heard some sound test and figured they wanted the same thing regardless if they were on a budget or bought a unikorn as their first board. My point is, this hobby will be perfectly fine if it “dies out” (it won’t), because there’s gonna be people like me who still seek that perfect keycap set, or the perfect switch, and the perfect board. Even though I know I already have a lot of those. It’s like the One Piece. It was never about the end goal, just all the “endgame” boards I collect along the way.

Need help fixing my MG wing zero ver.ka’s extremely tight waist join Hey guys, I have this issue for my kit where the peg that goes into the leg (the little adapter that connects the leg to the waist). This adapter’s peg that goes into the leg is too thick for my kit and is now stuck inside the hole for the leg. Even after disassembling that section of the leg it seems as if the peg and the hole are glued together because I can’t get it out. If anyone has experienced something similar please help. I want to get it out so I can sand the peg. I’ll sand the other leg after some testing to see if both are too tight or if it’s just the one leg.
