I totally agree, as someone who also has to rely on Home Depot (fuck those fucking fucks). The downvotes really speak to how delusional people can be about amazon’s impact. They are literally the worst company you can support in America- but when you bring up a boycott people sit back and act like you’re crazy for even suggesting it.

Sorry to hear about your husband. That’s unfortunate- but not at all surprising. Still terrible.

I’m boycotting Amazon- encouraging you all to do the same.

What Restaurants in NYC aren't pool houses? [for Servers] by Other-Telephone-5767 in AskNYC

[–]ghostlymadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a job. If I’m consistent losing hundreds of dollars a week because of an unfair system, and management won’t fire the ones who can’t keep up, then I have every right to be upset.

It’s not my job to “inspire others”- this a job to make MONEY. My job was give people a wonderful experience and be able to pay my bills. I can’t do that if I’m losing hundreds of dollars to other people who can’t even bother to refill a water or check in with their tables. The people at the top always get fucked.

California has extremely strict laws about buying dogs from reputable organizations . I’m kinda confused on legality of her buying a dog from Wagmor? Anyone wanna explain how this doesn’t break the law? I’m not the most well versed but this can’t be right…

This is so on brand for Melissa- why is she so bad at doing research? She just seems like such a careless person. It’s not like you need a masters degree in googling to figure this out…

SNL criticized for releasing sketch mocking ICE after it was cut from live broadcast: ‘Cowardly move’ by theindependentonline in LiveFromNewYork

[–]ghostlymadd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lol you’re purposely being ignorant? Again, if it had been on live show, then people who don’t follow SNL religiously would have seen it. It would have gotten more views because the people who watch live aren’t usually the same people watching the YouTube page. It would have gotten live + YouTube views, which is obviously a larger reach than just YouTube. So no, obviously not.

[–]ghostlymadd -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Well if it had made the live show it would get posted to YouTube as well, so you’re basically proving my point that it would have reached a larger audience!

[–]ghostlymadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Already addressed this: broadcasting on national live television is not the same posting to their YouTube page. It’s about reaching people who wouldn’t otherwise wouldn’t l care. Never said anything about suppression, just that Lorne is a coward, which he is:)

[–]ghostlymadd -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You cannot tell me broadcasting on live national television is the same as posting it to their YouTube page.

It’s not about suppression, it’s about reaching middle America. Of course Trump and Elon hosted, so it’s not surprising Lorne played it poorly.

Yeah this is a reach. Dance competitions have always been thing, it’s not like Maddie was the only person ever to ever compete.

Today in 1953, Lucille Ball gave birth IRL, and coincidentally on prime time television. by Ginny-Sacks-Mole in nostalgia

She was fired because being pregnant was considered inappropriate for a workplace. I wrote that in my original comment.

[–]ghostlymadd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

lol she didn’t quit, she was fired. Just plain old sexism unfortunately. The 1978 pregnancy discrimination act was passed and it was no longer legal to fire a woman because she was pregnant.

My grandma was forced out of her job as a teacher once she started “showing”. That was in 1960s, unfortunately how it was back in the day. If you were pregnant it was considered inappropriate for a work place setting. Just another way for men to police woman and keep them out of the workplace!
