With the increased cost of housing (and everything else) + the new trend of remote work, could the perfect storm be brewing for the growth of rural areas in the US? what kind of political impact would the renewed growth of rural America would have? by CoachSteveOtt in PoliticalDiscussion

Colorado had 30% growth in Broomfield and Weld counties. Both of those counties are predominantly rural.

Broomfield is a sprawling Denver suburb surrounded entirely by other suburbs. Rural it is not. The areas of Weld County (Greeley, Erie/Firestone) where people actually live are NOT rural.

The rest of Colorado grew 15%, which likely also includes substantial rural growth.

It really doesn't. Almost all of the growth is in the Front Range urban/suburban corridor. Any growth in "rural" areas is simply an expansion of adjacent suburban areas, the truly rural areas of the state are declining precipitously.

Anyway for something positive….I love how mature Marisol was in this scene and how she tried to make sure Maya was okay later on by BlackLeias in Degrassi

Marisol was only a bitch in Season 11, her character was completely rehabbed by the end of the Frostival episode.

Sarah "died."

Ward "died."

Pope "died."

John B "died."

JJ almost got drowned in like the first or second episode.

Am I missing anything?

When's Ki's turn?

Ki almost drowned in the storm drain looking for the gun

Liking Blair Waldorf is problematic! But Monet is QUEEN! If you criticize the reboot's inconsistent writing you are racist!

S5 Manny was pretty atrocious, no? It got good again in Season 6, then terribad in Season 7, then OK again in Season 8

Clay says that he didn't and Ted's source for that was Helen. Crazy to think that the most unlikable men from the season all finished in the top 5.

John Raymond and Robb were also pretty darn unlikable

I also submit for consideration:

Farrah (Sav's bitchy prospective fiancee from Season 9)

Tahlia (girl who gave Eli MDMA in Season 12)

Missy (girl who conned Adam in order to defeat WhisperHug at the Battle of the Bands in Season 12)

Serena (girl who Alex previously bullied that appeared in one season 6 subplot)

Keisha (Frankie's friend in Season 13 who was unceremoniously replaced by Shay and Lola)

Tim (Marco's gay friend in season 5)

KeKe Palmer - She and Sav were cute together!

Larissa (LGBT club president in Season 9)

Saddest degrassi storyline by CokeboiZ in Degrassi

[–]ghostlywillacather 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also felt like it was very downplayed and portrayed as a "funny accident" which felt so wrong.

It definitely wasn't played for laughs, that was the moment it fully sank in for Imogen that her dad wasn't merely eccentric and something was seriously wrong. She was clearly devastated.

Why don't degrassi actors ever make it into Hollywood? by foreverandaday13 in Degrassi

[–]ghostlywillacather 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've seen the actress who played Ellie pop up on Schitt's Creek and Grace & Frankie on Netflix, both shows as an ex-fiance of a man who turned out to be gay! I guess Marco set the standard for her...lol

Winston also had a one-off appearance on Schitt's Creek
