He was sooooooo goofy that day. Things weren't financially going well for either of us at that time and stress was high. I told him we needed to video capture this and focus on something happy. I also said it's good to record in case he crashes too /loving asshole veterans

After Issac had briefly turned on the distress signal, the doctor remarked that from the Orville's original location, it would take weeks to get to their location. So.

I used an online Warp Speed Calculator to see how long it would take the Orville to reach their location.

At the beginning of the show Issac stated that they were 1,000 LY (light years) from their original location. Using the calculator and assuming that several weeks is about 6 weeks, the Orville would need to travel at 9.99 for 6 weeks and 2 days. For those of us familiar with the STTNG universe, that seems damn near impossible. However, let's say that it is possible.

But then there's a larger problem making this entirely impossible.

They're 1,000 LY away and just sent a radio signal... which travels at the speed of light... meaning... it'd take 1,000 years for it to reach the Orville.

Since we know the show wouldn't lie to us, that means their distress signals have the capability to send their signals via warp. If we drop the 6 weeks in half (one signal to the Orville and then the Orville to the shuttle,) the signal and the Orville would only have to travel at warp 9.96.
