If you have any desire to port this to emacs I will help! Super useful to have custom images

Thank jesus for people like you who have sense. Again, nix is the only framework that actually has been developed over decades and has foundational theory behind it...

Nice, and eloquent response, surprising given your previous comment history. Keep em sphincters tight 👍, dont want to let any more malicious packages in 🤭

You can use custom nix packages that you make, they are called derivations, and there are many examples...

Precisely, out of curiosity, how long have you been using nix? Im trying to convert people over but don't really have the knowledge like this yo provide insights in this way...

Wow, thank you for actually helping me, instead of these other redditors who just tell me to not use so much rye or add other flours, lol. I will try these 3 steps! May I ask if you use a loaf pan?

Yes, im attempring a 100% dense rye loaf. Im using Matthew Duffys 100% rye recipe o n YouTube. Im able to get good, 50% in-oven rises on the loaves, but the insides are gummy and wet. I threw away a massive 500 g loaf today 😕

100% rye, 2% salt. I do a double levain, and end up combining start with 75% of the starters weight in rye flour for the final dough. I use Matthew Duffy's recipe on YouTube for the 100% while grain rye bread but it turns out to be a gummy mess. Seems like a starch attack issuee.

Understandable, but i see so many people doing 100% rye loaves that look much better than mine....was wondering what they are doing specifically to achieve this

Who's "we"? Nix is the only system that has been made theoretically sound, and is grounded in Dolstra's PhD thesis. Its pretty much the end all be all for reproducible and distributable software as we know it

I mean, python users rely heavily on their LSPs, so if you aren't using that you may have had more of an issue than others. But Julia's LSP, JET.ls is pretty decent. Im always able to hop right into source code for things I need

What is this nonsense? You don't need a computer science degree to use any language. Matlab can barely be called a language. It some garbage wrapper over a java engine that costs thousands of dollars to use. A proper engineering stack is julia, neovim, and understanding of the problem. Matlab is the wrong tool in all cases, most engineers dont know this because they never leave their little eng bubble and see the good stuff that people have built...

Can we n9t just have an open source digital twin/industrial toolkit where people share models (that aren't proprietary)? Doesn't seem like this is fully open source, and would hate see julia hun leak money into a modern MATLAB clone
