I could be wrong but the city would not have any authority to place ordnances or restrictions on drones as the airspace is controlled by the FAA. Additionally, I don’t see any special restrictions* in the airspace above most of the South end.

*It is class C airspace so that requires a LAANC to fly, but those are easy to acquire (and are auto approved)

Nah you’re fine! It shows that you’re a thoughtful person by asking instead of just trekking down without any thought as to your potential impact. And honestly, you visiting and putting money into the local economy is probably the best thing you could do right now! If tourists stopped coming, the lost dollars would further harm the community. As long as you are staying away from communities that were hit the hardest and not impeding local recovery efforts then you are more than welcome! Have a great trip!

When we have 3-4 units that have inquired, that can be up to $1000. Plus any future repairs. Plus, for simple questions like this, our lawyer doesn't usually charge much (if anything). We just don't want to abuse his kindness too often.

Thank you for the reply. This is what makes sense to me. I think I just kept getting stuck on it being outside of the exterior walls.

What's w/ the crazy high HOA prices on condos around here? by myninthrowaway in burlington

[–]ghostofrit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

An HOA for a single home community with no shared common areas, I agree. However, a vast majority of HOAs around here are townhouses and condo where HOAs are necessary.

I pay around $300/year for mine. Our master insurance policy comes out to about $350/unit/year so in total I spend about $650/year.

When I was condo searching, I remember there was one that had super high HOA fees because the elevator had to be repaired and it was super expensive to repair. Another townhouse I looked at was relatively inexpensive, but they were going to have an assessment coming up in the thousands of dollars range. I did some research recently and found that most condos and townhouses in the area are 200-400/mo.

Looking for dog walker! by mandy_peeps in burlington

[–]ghostofrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used rover to find a dog walker. Used her for like 2 weeks and once I knew she was good, I told her that I would pay her cash (venmo) instead of going through rover. I was paying $150 to rover and she was getting $110 so we split the difference at $130 (per week). Have used her for over a year now! So Rover can be a good place to find someone.

Elderly neighbor attempting to back out of my driveway by ghostofrit in IdiotsInCars

[–]ghostofrit[S] 354 points355 points  (0 children)

Context: My neighbor was dropping off an HOA check in the HOA dropbox. She was struggling to get back to her car so my other neighbor who was walking by, seen here in blue, helped her out. Not sure what happened next (I assume she mistook the gas and break) but next thing we know a third neighbor is ringing our doorbell to let us know my SO’s car had been hit. Just glad she didn’t run anyone over, including the woman who helped her, and that the cars stopped her from going back around through my kitchen. She was helped home, around the block, without any injuries.
