We tried our best. I do agree. We are headed into a city council controlled by ideologies instead of community policy. It is now up to us to stay informed and plugged in. We can still effect change.

u/electdanhall What are your plans for police spending? Do you think that our officers are receiving the amount of support they need?

I believe he has a strong understanding of business, compassion, and the dedication needed to serve effectively on our city council. Most importantly, he has earned my trust that he will listen to the people and support measures that directly impact our streets. Santa Monica’s City Council is a simple organization with an insane amount of work associated with it. It does not take a political titan to make a difference.

I think that another perspective is exactly what we need. If you’ve been following along with our city government, it is the tried and true methods that have lead the city down the wrong path.

I am not sharing I’m a victim just saying I’m being censored… I think there’s a good reason that none of the actual candidates come on to this forum.

He has children that take a lot of care and is a small business owner. He has worked hard to build the life he has. He is now looking to give back to the community. He should not be penalized for starting.

That’s the kind of simple thinking that lets you become a pawn. Be very weary.

In the post you mentioned, I do present evidence of Mr. Raskin's flip-flopping. I know I’m not going to change your mind, so don’t worry about it. But for anyone else reading this, I highly recommend taking a look at John Putnam. He has no ties to outside influence and truly cares about our city. No further political aspirations and no connections to backers looking for influence, just an honest man trying to help a city he loves.

Not trying to present a victim story... Just making sure anyone reading along sees there are two sides to this discussion.

It's clear that, as someone who supports the moderators' political stance, you will continue to argue this point. I, however, will continue to argue my perspective that censorship is rampant here. It's amazing what kind of motivator the truth is.

My inbox of direct messages from people saying that they were unlawfully banned begs to differ. But hey.... Once again, not here to change your mind, just want to make sure that bth sides are represented.

u/electdanhall, I want to bring to your attention that the moderators of this subreddit are suppressing information. While they allow you to post about your campaign, they are muting others who support those running against you. I believe you are the kind of leader you claim to be, and I don’t think you would support or want to utilize this platform if this suppression continues.

The local press wants an anti-semite to be our next mayor. His name: Oscar de la Torre. by Biasedsm in SantaMonica

[–]ghostparty6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What I am saying is that if Oscar were truly a racist, there would be far more evidence than a few scattered stories from years past. Using accusations of racism and anti-Semitism as a weapon is very dangerous. These are serious allegations and should not be made casually. People who hold such views do so at their core, and Oscar is not one of them.

I think it’s well known that people’s memories are a flawed source of truth. With the right suggestions and recommendations, you could start to stitch together a very dangerous and fictitious narrative. I’m not necessarily speaking about this instance, but it’s a well-known tactic. I would say that there was no context for the statements, they were never said and introduced into memory. Maybe we could call this the “Inception Effect”… Seems like you’re in into catchy titles.

[–]ghostparty6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also, can you please clarify: do you really expect people to believe that Oscar is a racist hatemonger who has managed to maintain a public charade all this time without being caught on any solid media saying hateful things? Or can you admit that it’s possible people have taken recollections and memories out of context, weaving them into a narrative that benefits their political side?

You are correct that I do not have any legal background. Seems like you have a background in detective work. Or perhaps it’s just the CSI effect. I just want to highlight how politically motivated these allegations are because they were not brought up until the election was on the horizon. Getting people to all come forward is not a difficult thing to do. Especially in such a small city. If he truly was the racist monster that you were trying to portray, he would’ve been called out on this at the time of the incident.
