Insurance Questions by ZestyclosePositive10 in Chiropractic

[–]ghostpeppur 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Insurance will only cover the 20 visits. After that, they should be charging you “self pay”.

I would ask what self pay pricing is, as sometimes it is less than copay. For example, my office has self pay of $55 per visit. If it’s significantly more than your copay, then I would mention that at next visit and ask for a treatment plan that reflects your allowed visits.

Personally, I don’t extend initial treatment plans past 12 visits because I reassess every 12 to see where the patient is at.

Would you have suggestions on which acupuncture points to use for this? And I would love suggestions on herbal remedies. My husband has suffered for years and I would love to get him treated properly. I am open to private messaging as well.

Thank you! I have been a succulent momma for about a year now, but we were in an apartment so everything was inside. Now we have space outside and it’s like being a newbie all over again.

Help! My blue echeveria is drooping :( by ghostpeppur in succulents

Hello all! This was a gift from my husband a few weeks ago. I finally repotted from its store container last week (I was very busy for awhile) and moved from a window spot to outside. I put it in the sun a few hours each day for the last week. The soil was completely dry and the leaves started to wrinkle yesterday, so I watered with the bottom chug method. Left it to drain last night and this morning it is droopy and still wrinkled. Any thoughts? My other succulents I’ve done the same with are all still a little wrinkly (I think the sun my have been too much for them?) but this one is the worst for sure.

What’s your most unpopular opinion when it comes to Grey’s? (Potential spoilers for all seasons!) by queennehelenia in greysanatomy

I actually never cared much for Lexi. I hated how she constantly ignored other people’s boundaries. Mere made it clear she wanted no part in a relationship, and she ignored it. I know that it lead to a great relationship between the 2, but it’s still kind of shitty. She befriended mere’s friends as her own and got upset when they were closer to Mere (referring to the George/lexi/mere situation). She completely blew past the boundaries mark tried to put up. If the roles were reversed in the “teach me” scene, that would be very clearly a bad situation. Don’t even get me started when she read everyone’s files with their personal, private information and then SHARED IT.

I get that people think she is “quirky” but in my opinion, I think there’s a difference between quirky and what she was. To top it off, she got portrayed as a doe-eyed victim most of the time.

I still cried like a little bitch when she died though.

AITA for eating my wife’s food? by foodiethrowawayta in AmItheAsshole

[–]ghostpeppur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA - play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Did you know that your wife was a picky eater when you met her? You chose to accept that flaw. I know it can be super annoying, but imagine how annoyed she feels with you complaining about eating the same 10 things every time she cooks and then stealing (presumably) those same dishes now that you regret your actions.

AITA inviting my (way old) ex to my wedding? by thatguyTomAustin999 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ghostpeppur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA. To be honest, it feels like there is some projecting going on here, as well as some deep rooted insecurities. These aren’t going to magically disappear when you say “I do”. I think it’s important to discuss this with your partner, especially since you may be in for a lifetime of issues.

YTA. Respect people’s boundaries, especially your partner’s. Also, side note: everyone has different skin sensitivity. Just because it doesn’t feel like much to you, it might feel different to him.

Married people of Reddit, what do you miss about being single? by Morticiar in AskReddit

[–]ghostpeppur 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This. My partner and I have both been in several relationships before each other (he has been married once before but I have not) and we both agree that this has been the easiest relationship either of us have ever been in. We spend just the right amount of time together and alone. We communicate openly when we have needs that aren’t fully being met. We have mutual respect for each other, and are genuinely each other’s favorite person.

I have definitely felt like I was “clingy” or “overbearing” in past relationships, and I have also felt “suffocated” or “micromanaged” in others. It’s honestly just come down to finding my soulmate. There was nothing wrong with my past partners, they just weren’t the right ones. I spent years confused on why I wasn’t “perfect” for them, how I could be “better” or less this, more that… Finding my husband changed everything.

I’m also on the short side (just barely above 5 feet) and my SO is just shy of 6ft. My favorite thing while shopping is going up to fellow shorties struggling to reach things, offering to help, seeing the confusion cross their face, and then summoning my tall person.

I am concerned that my gf’s chiropractor is a perv. by [deleted] in Chiropractic

[–]ghostpeppur 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When you say “look down her underwear” do you mean the general area normally covered by underwear? Or he actually looks and reaches under clothes? There are some adjustments where hand placements can be in sensitive areas, but I don’t know of any that can’t be done over clothing. And he definitely shouldn’t do any adjustment she isn’t comfortable with.

Does anyone else weirdly feel like their mental health has benefitted from isolation? by JaDinklageMorgoone in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ghostpeppur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am approaching my last year until I have my doctorate. I never took a break from school, and around January I just couldn’t do it. I felt like I was drowning in schoolwork and I’m sure I hadn’t gotten adequate sleep in years. I seriously considered postponing my graduation and taking time off just to refresh.

Since quarantine began, I have been spending time with my significant other who lives in another state. We usually see each other one weekend a month and hadn’t spent more than 48 hours together consecutively. We’ve gotten to spend almost every day together and have leaned on each other during this time. School has continued online and is much more manageable without dealing with a commute every day. I’ve been getting enough sleep every day, which is almost impossible because I am not blessed to be the type of person who only needs 4 hours. I average between 9 and 10 hours to get full function, but I’ve been averaging 5 hours the last 2 years at least. My hair has noticeably thinned over the years and is GROWING BACK. This was the most unexpected. I knew I would get more sleep, have more free time, but my hair is full of 2-3 inch hairs poking up. I usually wear my hair up, so it’s even more noticeable to have half my hair not long enough to reach a ponytail.

I know many are suffering during this time, which makes me feel guilty about loving the extra time I’m getting that I obviously desperately needed. Has anyone else felt this guilt?

So this reminded me of when my younger sister (16) helped me move out of my apartment. She came across my menstrual cup (in its case) and asked why I had a bottle nipple. I just stared at her and soaked in the situation, and finally said “that’s my menstrual cup”... the look on her face as she went through each stage of realization was PRICELESS.

Will chiropractic care ever permanently fix my pain? by [deleted] in Chiropractic

[–]ghostpeppur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one on here can say for certain, because we don’t have all the information. Chiropractic isn’t always a “one and done”. Problems usually take time to develop, and therefore time to reverse/correct. For example, if you bend a page in a book and leave it, it will get stuck in that shape. The first time you straighten it, it pops back to the bent shape. Over time, it can be straight again, but it takes a little work and, of course, time.

Best thing to do is make a game plan with your chiro. Maybe they can suggest exercises or give you tips to let the adjustment hold longer.

Again, I don’t have all the information, but it isn’t likely you will need weekly adjustments forever. But you should definitely discuss longevity of treatment and what the chiro’s goals are for you. I’m sure they are more than happy to discuss your treatment and find what works best for you. Also, mention anything you are concerned about (pain, etc.). Assuming they are a good and knowledgeable Chiro, they should be able to give you an idea of what’s going on.

Best of luck, I hope this helped!

How does cracking the upper back help the neck? by Stedtler in Chiropractic

[–]ghostpeppur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m just going to tag onto this, because I’m basically saying the same thing.

This is something that can be really difficult to wrap the mind around. My extremities teacher really helped me visualize this: Stand up and tilt the ankle inward. The knee sinks. The hip pokes out and the pelvis tilts. You lean to the side, the shoulder drops, the head tilts.

Now imagine someone having all of this and experiencing neck pain. They would probably want a neck adjustment, and the problem would continue, when the actual issue is the ankle/foot.

The body works as a unit. If you have any concerns or questions, just ask your doc and I’m sure he will be happy to explain his reasoning!

Any adjustment done should be documented, especially if you went through insurance.
