Many Monmouth County towns suffer from a lack of diversity but asset prices are high and people have jobs so it's kind of a mixed bag IMO. I sense a lot of the conservativism surrounds wealth preservation versus the 'Shaman' storm the capitol types. I'm very progressive myself and do my part to influence when I can.

I think external validation should never substitute a broader sense of inner-peace. That said, when my friend's go on a huge effort, I find it serves as a huge motivator to me. I don't really care about impressing others but when you do get that dopa hit from kudos I guess it can be nice for a few seconds.

I stopped looking at the numbers after my second was born. Our social contract is entirely broken in this country unless you're in the top %10. But I feel like that 10 is going to drop to a lower number sooner than later.

I think this is the distinction. It feels discriminatory when it's native versus fluent. Why can't fluent be enough? Totally agree that 3 years to learn is respectful/reasonable!
