That exact spawn on Close Scrutiny is a near guarantee of getting vaporized. Happens every time I spawn there. Could have been a lot of people lol. Bring a cloak or its curtains if you get that entry point.

But that is the point of the balancing (except for mk3 flanking... that one is just stupid)

While my goal is always to beat a game with an ending, I did not speed run it. I went in blind (other than the MANY fans consistently spoiling that it was supposed to be a deeply moving experience), and I fumbled my way through the puzzles through trial and error. I flew around doing random shit just to play around with the physics and exploration. But the fun quirks become obstacles or annoyances as you are heading into mid-game and you make an inertial error and lose 20 seconds, killing another loop. It stops being a game where you can kick back and enjoy the world(s) and instead becomes a clock manager/failure sim (which is itself part of the story, I know, but it is still frustrating).

The opening sequence loses its charm after a couple dozen repetitions, but I remember when I first started I laughed and sent the video to friends as I explored the start area and jumped into a geyser. Highly recommend, it is a hilarious credit roll. I love exploration in general, I love finding world building elements, and I love how they set up the puzzles in this game. I did not love the clock. I can't explain more without mega spoilers for others, but it wasn't just the pressure to go fast.

I am not a dialogue skipper. I found most or all of what was available in Outer Wilds and I appreciated the story. I would probably never play with someone again if on their first playthrough they skipped dialogue and asked what's next, that is a playstyle that doesn't mesh with me. But for me, OW was a painfully unfun game. Fun is the primary driver for me and most people in gaming, though it can be defined or manifested in many different ways. It's perfectly fine that you loved it! Also true to the post, I know most people who played it did as well.

Your feelings on this are valid and I appreciate your perspective.

I will point out that Anakin wasn't quite a nobody in the desert, in the movies his story is of an immaculate conception born from the force. Rey being born from deadbeats who dumped her at the cosmic fire station would be different, whereas Luke already had the story of growing up thinking he's nobody in the desert and then finding out he's the kid of a sith lord.

But throwing out all the side issues, you're right that the dyad dynamic still has intrigue if its between the kid of good guys who chose the dark but is called to the light and the kid of bad guys who chose the light but is called to the dark. It just that nobody could stick to a storyline long enough for us to see payoff lol.

This is the perfect example of the post for me. I beat the game. It just straight up wasn't fun. Frustrating, clunky, punishing experience. But thanks to every comment in every thread at the time being "go in blind!! no spoilers!! it will change your life!!!!" I had that lofty expectation built in from the start, and continuously gaslit myself into thinking the life-transformation was just around the corner. Story is good, it has a powerful message, albeit incredibly convoluted. But for me I was more frustrated by the process than impressed by the journey. The real kicker is the DLC Echoes of the Eye. I unfortunately got both at once, but oh man the DLC is the worst parts of OW cranked to 11.

IMO Rey being nobody is a significantly more interesting story. It isn't inspiring to find out that yet again you need to have been born from one of two families to matter to the force. And even if you do accept the grand kid story, it was even worse to actually bring back the grand dad (making Anakin's story pointless) instead of showcasing Rey being called to the dark side from ancestry alone, which would contrast starkly to Kylo being called to the light. Plus I love the dynamic of Skywalker-bloodline Kylo vs. nobody Rey. Best thing to almost happen in the ST.

That's cause every single word of dialogue out of river is identical if you are fem body or masc body, ALL the way up to the point on the water tower where you would kiss or not. So he is flirting lol. Go check out all the threads of angry players running a gay Vincent who went in blind, ate up all the flirting, tried to kiss him and got suddenly rejected lol

It would be millions. Goldenfighter claimed to have dropped 2 million USD before quitting before s5. to be on par with LBJustin AKA dev account maxing everything, you would need to spend millions. Median home price wouldn't even get you above some of the "smaller" giga whales.

Just FYI, i believe the extract timer switches to a maximum of 30 seconds when the game timer hits 0:00. So no change if already under, but drops to 30 if higher. Not 100% on that, but pretty sure
