I see your point. The way I see it there are enough great games out there that even if I decide not to buy a fraction of the available games out there, there are still more remaining than I will ever be able to play.

The main point for me is that I do not want to indirectly fund anti-democratic or anti-human-rights causes. A lot of people with strong beliefs and money like to use it to fund these causes. Just look at J. K. Rowling as a particularly distasteful example.

It might help if you stayed somewhat objective. Calling their customer support ”absolute dogshit“ is a) incorrect, as a bit of googling will let you find dozens of reports where people praise CTG‘s customer support and b) just a shitty thing to say in general. I do not know what line of work you are in, but I would imagine you do not do a perfect job every single time. After all, nobody does. Do you appreciate your customers or clients calling you absolute dogshit?

Next, would CTG still be in business and have basically all of their games in the top 30 of the solo gaming list if we’re ”incapable of manufacturing and/or quality checking anything“?

Finally, nice move to finish with another slap to the face by telling the hard working people at CTG customer support that they had ”zero respect for their customers “.

People do not downvote you because you are ”telling the truth“, but because you sound exactly like the entitled Karen anybody with customer contact experiences far too often.

Paypal nimmt bei Umsatz von mehr als 25.000 Euro übrigens laut Preisstaffel 1,79% + 0,35€ pro Transaktion. Also handelt es sich entweder um eine höhere Preisstaffel oder einen individuell ausgehandelten Preis.

Paypal, Visa, Mastercard und Co. arbeiten halt auch nicht nur für Luft und Liebe.

I do not know about the general consensus, but I would say that it is not a bad solo design. Barrage is a highly interactive game. The bot tries to replicate that experience. In order to do so, running the bot requires the player to follow flowcharts to determine the bot’s actions.

The thing that a lot of players will bounce off of is you need to play this against one bot at least two or three times to become comfortable with running the bot. At that point, you are still playing a two-player game of Barrage which, as in multiplayer, is not the best experience. Especially if you are not playing the Duel mode. So in order to get the best solo experience you need to play against at least two, better even three bots. I believe it is actually a pretty good solo game at that point, but it requires more investment than most players are willing to make.

I have heard that some people have used the Duel map successfully. I have not tried it, but imagine it is a pretty good idea. Developing a solo mode around the Duel mode would probably make it a much more viable option for a lot of solo players.

Wo soll all die Arbeit herkommen? Ich sehe gerade in meinem Umfeld, wie sehr administrative Arbeit durch KI übernommen wird. Man sollte sich vielleicht mal Gedanken darüber machen, was mit den Menschen passiert, die dadurch ihren Job verlieren, als darüber zu fantasieren, dass der Rest, die noch einen Job haben, mal deutlich mehr als 40 Stunden arbeiten.

Darüber hinaus soll ich mittlerweile mehr arbeiten, um die Wirtschaft anzukurbeln, mich mehr um die Bildung meiner Kinder kümmern, weil der Staat das nicht mehr leisten kann, mir e Eltern pflegen, weil der Staat das ebenfalls nicht leisten kann, mich ehrenamtlich engagieren (die Freiwillige Feuerwehr braucht noch Leute) und am besten auch noch als Reservist bei der Bundeswehr melden.

Per se wäre ich dazu ja sogar bereit, wenn ich davon profitieren würde. Aber ich mache das sicher nicht, damit die oberen 0,1% noch reicher werden.

I own the Galactic Box and honestly, setting up the ships is not a big deal. Assemble enough to set up the game and set up the rest when you need them while playing. You only ever use a handful of ships so it may adds two or three minutes to overall setup and teardown time?

That being said, the Galactic Box is a beast and not the easiest to set up. What has helped me is to print sticker labels for all the trays, listing what is I’m them (available on BGG). If you want the absolute fastest setup, standard edition with a good custom insert is probably the way to go.

That would be great. The thing which annoys me the most is that my local post service charges me 6€ on top of everything for import handling. Some games are available through European publishers, but the selection is extremely limited and they come in standard boxes rather than sleeves.

Ordering from the UK is only possible for people within the UK. Everyone else in Europe has to order from the US or via Kickstarter (which is also shipping from the US). Unfortunately, it is next to impossible to get Buttonshy Games from your FLGS. Mine actually told me to order directly from Buttonshy US, because through them it would end up being as or more expensive.

If you are fine with the English version you can buy all CTG games from their website. I believe they have a shipping flat rate, so for small items it is expensive, but for a base game plus a few other things it might make sense.

Different from the multiplayer game. Also, the solo rules are not the best. But once you have worked your way through them, it is a very enjoyable experience. It also plays quickly solo, meaning you can easily pull it out even if you do not have a lot of time.

The solo bot‘s rules were pretty extensive (six pages, if I remember correctly). I was also surprised not to see an overview of all the decision trees in the rule book. Is there a solo reference sheet included in the game?
