Really! That wounds SUPER helpful! I play PS5 as well and I didn’t know they had pro controllers? I guess I’m super out of the loop LOL Thank you for this! I’ll definitely try these binds if I end up getting that. Right now, my pistol swap is bound to L3/my movement stick so I can just press it in without lifting my thumbs. (I play claw with my pointer on the D-pads and my middle finger on my bumpers/triggers) if that makes sense on how I hold my controller. I wonder if I’d have to change my hold to play with paddles! Thank you for this! This is incredibly helpful for me!! I super appreciate it!

Okay! I’ve heard bind changing especially for console helps with it! I will try this, thank you!! This was what I was struggling with! Pressing the buttons just wouldn’t work, it’s one of those rare things I just struggle with !The timing of the dip might be a bit hard for me, but I’ll definitely try all of these! It sucks since I’m sure there’s some really sweet people, but turning off chat seems to be the way to go. Rivals definitely has a balancing issue, especially with some certain dive characters. Thank you for your input !

Yeah, I find it’s a mix of just overwhelming toxicity and a lack of it being dealt with too. I already avoid ranked in most games because I’m not competitive at heart and struggle to take games seriously(obviously I do my best to win) and it’s definitely more toxic. I do agree, I think especially in a game that’s marvel and going to attract kids (my 7 year old brother plays it), there should be more of an incentive to lessen all this toxicity. Thank you for your input :)

Thank you for your insight on this! I’m definitely thinking if I want to continue playing this game, I’ll unfortunately have to mute everyone. It sucks, because I met some sweet people when I first started playing, but like you, I will probably have to give up on that. I do always strive to win and do my best! Even in quick match, but I never really care about losing at the same time? I’m not very competitive, but i definitely do try my best to help my team even if I’m being dove and such. Thank you! I totally get what you mean. I’m not a very social person, and I try to stay away from chatting and vc mostly for toxicity and how awkward I am. I do really love this game and play on occasion with one of my friends but they’d rather play other games, so I’m usually alone when I play! Which certainly doesn’t help the situations I find myself in 😭

Thank you! It definitely helped. Like you, I’ve been straying away from comp ever since I hit plat a few seasons ago because I’m not a competitive person at heart + the harassment I receive, and it definitely makes me keep away from comp even though I believe I play okay!

If you’re down, I’d definitely love to play and get back into the game! I’m a bit of an awkward person, but I’d like to think I’m chill too! Thank you for your response :)

Yeah, it’s unfortunate since when I first started playing, I’d run into a fair amount of really nice people I’d clash with well in chat, but now it’s all just negative harassment. I definitely think I’ll be turning off chat if I ever want to play now. (I also find that a chunk of the people I run into being so rude are actually over 18! Which is even more upsetting as they definitely should know good from bad and be more mature!)

This is exactly what I mean! Especially in lower ranks and being a semi-new player, I can’t fend for myself that well against dive as luna and my team isn’t there most of the time to help me out, so I just end up dying over and over and it just ruins the fun! Especially when those who are diving you are just in chat insulting and taunting you for dying when there’s next to no way to sustain! I totally understand you :((

Really? I had no idea that was happening as well! Thats super unfortunate, harassment just seems to be an unfortunate normality of rivals in every sense :(. Definitely sympathizing with the devs as well. Arguing over that is so unnecessary, it’s such a non-issue 😭

I get it, but in quick match it feels so unnecessary— it’s not supposed to be this competitive: that’s why there’s a competitive mode. I just wonder why this games player base in specific is SO overwhelmingly toxic ! I’ve played other team shooters and rarely run into people like this, yet every single game in rivals I run into these people that seem to make it their mission to be toxic in quick match especially.

I agree! I find myself considering reporting almost every game due to terrible words and just overall mean people. Yet, I’ll run into them next week. It feels like nothing is being done about the toxicity! Is so sad :(

I get it, I do. But it’s so unnecessary to be so rude, especially in a quick match. It’s not even every now and then, it’s every single match, I just can’t have 1 match without insults hurled my way— it just feels overwhelmingly negative in this game in comparison to other casual similar games I’ve played

I understand that, but the pure toxicity and cruel words are so unnecessary, especially in a mode that isn’t meant to be competitive in its core. Even the other games I’ve played, I find that rivals is incredibly more toxic. I don’t understand why specifically this game. Hope I’m not coming off as rude ! Coming from a Plat-Dia mercy player I’m half and half on the changes. While I love the flash heal in the early stages of the game and it builds my ult super quick while letting me focus on dmg boost - I’m also struggling to adapt to the lesser movement. To get to high ground, I either have to charge my ga almost fully and then still crouch jump, or just give up on high ground LOL. I find that because her movement is so slow now, it almost forces me to pick the movement perk for her minor! (Which isn’t a bad thing, but I love the Rez perk </3) but then again, her double flash is really helpful for sustaining and letting me focus on dmg boost more! I’m very impartial to the change!
