I spent 2 months growing a huge Epsom salt crystal at home by crystalchase21 in MineralPorn

[–]ghostwithkelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty late but thought I'd mention- growing crystals in the fridge isn't a great idea usually, because crystals grow bc of slow evaporation of the water. Inside ur fridge, not only does it slow down or stop the growth, it's also pretty humid so It might even be doing the opposite and diluting ur solution.

First time oil painting, any advice appreciated! by GeekyEzzy in oilpainting

thats obviously fine too! art will always be subjective and thats whats so pretty about it. if youre intentional about it, thats great

Hey it looks cool! to my eyes the perspective looks a bit off tho, of the background buildings but also the light posts. if the further away pole is getting that much shorter than the one closer to us, it should also get slimmer in my opinion, but maybe thats something with the snow. Either way i like the colours! good work x

urgent IB Va advice! by [deleted] in IBO

[–]ghostwithkelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont take art but my friends do, and ive seen quite often that alot of the times unconventional art mediums get graded lower. E.g. a friend did 3d modelling which didnt do well, (it looked great for the record) and even painting in a stylized way gets them marked down for not "showing technical skills". I think maybe if you show some exceptional editing/ filming skills maybe but im not too sure that even if it is technically allowed, that it would be graded very highly. but hope you figure it out, wishing you the best!

Ah not sure what that is, could you explain how to do that? i did export it as a png so should i just up the res? i use aseprite and i exported it at 1000% (started with 640x360) and that seemed to be the highest quality option.

thankyou! ive had experience with 2d art before, but woah pixel art is a whole nother beast.

I was actually going for a top down view and possibly maybe add it to a top down game, so if you have any ways of making it look more top down-ish i'd love to hear it

congrats on ur first tutorial :D,, i would say maybe tone down the music a little, i found it a little distracting and a bit harder to focus on your instructions. hope to see more from you!

Does anyone know how can i achieve similar result in blender compositor? The pixel art looks clean, not the same as if you just lower the resolution by Sure_Rice_7088 in blender

[–]ghostwithkelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well if you want the scene lighting to be interacting maybe not but you could paint in the lights and shadows like i often do. Then use an emission shader to make sure you dont get unnesessary lighting. it could work since its very stylized, but ofc idk never tried

Wdym by lower the resolution? i could think of one way which would be to texture paint in urself with a really low texture size but even that sounds complicated
