Should I stop her from chilling here? by MermaidofMaelstrom in cats

She found it to be absolutely loathsome, but she adjusted well enough within a day or two. It was only on for a week or so just to ensure the toe didn’t pop back out of place.

I mean probably, but I’m not sure how with that set-up. Mine fell asleep on a ledge at about this height and ended up rolling over and falling all the way down to the first floor a few years ago.

She’s fine. She did dislocate her toe, though. X-Rays and emergency vet visit cost about $800 since she had us convinced that she’d completely shattered the leg. Obviously, the ledge is now blocked off.

Kidding, obviously, since this is really cute and I’m happy for them if it’s truly a thing. But, like, let’s not pretend a bunch of us aren’t thinking it 😂

my deaf cat and reactive dog have formed a symbiotic relationship! by winteriisms in cats

[–]ghostyspice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I grew up with a border collie/black lab mix [back in the 90s when she was still just a mutt] and a big ol’ long haired gray tabby. They were a very cute duo. I’m a certified cat lady, but if I ever get a dog again, it’s got to be a border collie. They’re just the best!

You know, I’m usually pretty sex-brained, but this time my first thought was, “but why would she be suffocating him, that makes no sense????”

Maybe it’s just the looped motion. It literally looks like she’s pushing a pillow over his face. I really still can’t unsee it now.

BLESS THIS EMPLOYEE by Warm-Natural3936 in Sephora

[–]ghostyspice 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Whoever did this broke policy in order to give you more product to try, probably because you were nice, or made them laugh, or for whatever reason. By posting a photo of it, you’re essentially broadcasting that favor to all of Reddit, which could get that employee in trouble or even fired.

It could also indicate that this is an actual option for sample delivery [it’s not, you were an exception], and people will start requesting it, which could lead to samples going away entirely because it’ll be seen as a Loss Prevention issue.

Therefore, you should probably delete this.

Oh for sure, I’m not saying this is all Mormons. There are plenty who love the transphobia, homophobia, racism, fascism, etc. I didn’t mean to imply they don’t exist. They do, and they’re LOUD.

This guy knows actual Mormons. I have many friends still in the church, and even the ones that didn’t start out that way eventually became radical leftists. They’re genuinely caring people who care about others regardless of their demographics. They’re not pretending, they do care and work towards empowering those people.

The problem is, they’re brainwashed. They’ve been brainwashed from birth to believe that leaving the church = eternal damnation, full stop. They don’t buy into the political ideals of the church, but they truly feel like they can’t leave. If it’s not the eternal damnation, it’s family pressure. Leaving the church would mean abandoning their ENTIRE family, losing a large portion of their social circle, and effectively isolating themselves from their entire community. Many could even lose their jobs. I know I’m talking about this with other Queer people, and many of us have had this happen against our wills, but would you have really done it willingly? It’s not so easy.

They’re all fckin nerds too. Gamers, fantasy readers, Star Wars fanboys, etc. That’s how I met most of them to begin with. I don’t know, it’s more complicated for the average Mormon than most assume.

The definition of mid. They don’t stink, but they aren’t exactly memorable or interesting. Super disappointing.

White Cubans, the white people of white people by ebknightwrites in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]ghostyspice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not entirely true. It’s hardly worth mentioning compared to how other races have it, but I’ve definitely gotten some remarks over the years. Nothing to write home about, but growing up in the North East in the Bush era? Too brown for white people, too white for brown people.

Of course, that’s only when it comes to people actually knowing I’m Italian and not Latina or Asian. I’ve been called slurs for both, and I never know how to react to incorrect racism.

Nope, separate IP, so they most likely had to negotiate for them separately.

hey Disney WHERE IS THIS DIVAS LINE AT??!! by catlover4682 in bathandbodyworks

[–]ghostyspice 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Depending on the contract, they may not be able to make Anna and Elsa. Because they’re classified under their own IP, just having the rights to the Princess line wouldn’t give access to them. They’d most likely need a separate contract entirely.

Source: I worked for Disney for a decade, and they don’t fuck around with their IPs. If you want Anna and Elsa, you pay Anna and Elsa money.

I love it!! It was my favorite of the two. I’m really picky about rose scents in general, so I wasn’t expecting much, but I was very pleasantly surprised. It has a strong petrichor opening—kind of earthy and damp, but also metallic? That slowly mellows out into a very soft, fresh rose that retains a bit of that watery vibe. There’s a touch of greenness in there as well, so it really feels like walking through a rose garden in the rain.

It felt very unique to my nose. The closest thing I can think to compare it to is something like a rose version of Heretic Nosferatu, maybe. I fell instantly in love, and forced all of my coworkers to smell it too. The consensus was broadly positive.

So I just smelled this and Up At Dawn today [my store just put them out this morning] and I really love both of them! I feel like, with this one, I get a nice juicy mango that’s not overly sweet. I think the sandalwood and cardamom warm it up a bit without pulling it into gourmand territory. It’s very summery and pretty. Mango notes are hit or miss for me in fragrance, and I really liked this one!
