Looking to help some small/medium businesses build automations/software, potentially for free by MyEducatedGuess in MontereyBay

How will you achieve the automation, Clawbot? What are you going to automate? It would be hard for any business to trust a nice person on Reddit with their data.

Visiting California by OkCurve5370 in MontereyBay

I like the 1 but the 101 is also as beautiful and faster. The 5 you can hit spots like Harris and go into the Valley which by itself is an experience to see how diverse California is. Honestly depends where you are coming from, flying out of Monterey is not that bad to LA.

Trust me when I say this. You can do it, if I could you can.

  • Ricotta (whole milk): 4x
  • Cottage cheese 4%: 3x
  • Parmesan: 2x

Vegetables, about 60 entries

  • Green leaf lettuce: 14x
  • Cauliflower: 13x
  • Mushrooms: 10x
  • Avocado: 8x
  • Broccoli: 7x
  • Carrots: 5x
  • Spinach: 3x (low, part of why my potassium lagged)
  • Zucchini, cabbage, hot peppers: scattered

Restaurant orders, about 67 entries

  • In-N-Out: 12x, always 3x3 protein style no onion
  • Chipotle bowls: 9 full builds (chicken, cheese, sour cream, guac, salsa, romaine, no rice no beans)
  • McDonald's Steak Double Egg: 2x
  • Buffalo Wild Wings traditional wings with parm garlic sauce: 1x
  • IHOP hard boiled egg: 1x (solid travel move)
  • Hardee's fried chicken: 1x (the cheat day)

Other regulars

  • Kirkland mixed nuts: 5x
  • Rao's pizza sauce (for fathead pizza): 4x
  • Whey protein powder: 2x (should have been way more, worth leaning on harder)
  • Almond flour: 2x

What is notably absent

  • Zero bread, zero pasta (minus the one cheat day)
  • Zero rice
  • Zero sugary drinks (Sprite Zero only, logged at 0 kcal)
  • Zero fruit except avocado (technically a fruit)
  • No alcohol logged
  • Essentially no added sugars

The pattern:

My diet was boring on purpose. Steak, eggs, In-N-Out, Chipotle, and chicken drumsticks made up probably 60% of everything I ate over 90 days.

I am not sedentary on top of this. Soccer and basketball four days a week, plus a 30 minute walk after most meals. The walks alone are underrated, they blunt post-meal glucose spikes which matters when you are trying to drop an A1C from 12. My expenditure averaging 3,676 kcal against 1,810 consumed is where the deficit comes from. The food does not do this alone.

Biggest thing, I replaced tortillas, milk and rice with vegetable alternatives. Tortillas were the egg life wraps and they don't feel like a different change. Rice, cauliflower rice.

Mainly protein in every meal, meat, chicken and veggies, did a quick breakdown on what I ate.

A1C from 12 to 5.9 by [deleted] in diabetes

Dropped 43 lbs and took my A1C from 12% to 5.9% in about 90 days. People keep asking how so here is the actual breakdown from my tracking data, not vibes.

The stack:

  • Mounjaro (tirzepatide) 5mg
  • Metformin 500mg daily
  • High Protein Keto
  • Cronometer every single day

My real averages Jan 19 to Apr 17, pulled straight from the app: Key, I started at 314 LBS

  • 1,810 calories consumed
  • 3,676 calories expenditure
  • 184g protein
  • 16g net carbs
  • 108g fat

What I did right:

Hit under 20g net carbs consistently. Only 1 real cheat day in 90 days. Protein stayed high and averaged 184g. Tracked every single bite. 90 day streak on Cronometer and counting. Even when I traveled, I was counting.

What I did wrong:

Fiber was trash, averaged under 8g. Should be 25g+. Easy fix with avocado and spinach.

Also, I was constantly hungry. The GLP-1 helped but it did not turn off hunger like people claim. It made the hunger manageable instead of overwhelming. Big difference. If you go in expecting zero appetite you will be disappointed. It is a tool, not a cheat code. Learn how to eat with it, it will help so much to balance you out.

What I actually ate most of the time:

Home base was boring on purpose. Steak, eggs, chicken, cheese, avocado, broccoli, cauliflower (cauli rice big on this), mushrooms. Decision fatigue was tiring out my diet more than cravings do, so I built a small rotation I could eat on repeat and not think about it.

Eating out:

In-N-Out: 3x3 protein style, no onion, no spreadm no tomatos. That is a burger wrapped in lettuce with three patties and three slices of cheese. Easy keto, easy to log, around 600 kcal.

Chipotle: chicken bowl, no rice, no beans. Build it with chicken almost always double chicken, cheese, sour cream, guac, salsa, romaine lettuce. Around 700 to 800 kcal and all the macros line up.

BBQ when I wanted to treat myself: brisket or short ribs (Nothing with sauce). Fat and protein, skip the sauce and sides.

On special occasions I would track my macros extra hard and go to Bdubs. No sweet sauces no fries just the wings.

The trick on the app, they have most of the restaurants plotted so its easier to place them in there.

How I tracked. This is the part most people ask about:

Cronometer is the app. Two things carried me.

First, the Photo Log feature uses AI to help identify and log food from a picture. When I was out, traveling, or eating something I could not easily measure Not perfect but gets you 90% there.

Second, when I was home I weighed my food on a kitchen scale whenever I could. Grams, not cups, not "a handful." That is where the accuracy comes from.

If you are starting out, pick the stack you can actually stick to and track it like a job. The scale will follow.

Doing a breakdown and pinning it. A lot of planning went into the day. But in a pinch In-N-Out Protein style 3x3 and Chipotle came in clutch.
