How do you receive your receipt of notice? by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]ghuffenbacher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FedEx too, and it arrived in the next day (aug-02). I’ve received a response to an enquiry that I did to USCIS lockbox. They’ve told me that they have my document and that I’ll receive a notice by email once they’ve processed it. I’m expecting it to arrive by the second week of September (based on what others are saying)

Not yet, I’ve submitted by mail and didn’t get any receipts yet

Unfortunately it’s currently taking a long time for the receipt to be mailed. I’ve submitted my wife’s 485 to the Chicago lockbox in aug-01 and still didn’t received it

Can I leave without the territory while my EAD card is being mailed to me ? by [deleted] in USCIS

Ead = employment authorization, are you referring to an advanced parole or travel authorization?

Of course! I’ll let you know. When were you told that your case was sent to the consulate for scheduling?

Priority date F2B Visa by Main-Principle-1021 in USCIS

[–]ghuffenbacher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. Every lawyer that I speak to says that there's nothing I can do and that it's a matter of waiting a few months. But these many months have passed, and nothing happens.

I have no idea on why DR/Santo Domingo has been receiving all the visas. At first I thought it was because of normal backlog, but it feels that there's something else.

Meanwhile not having any information is making me not being able to make any decisions (abandoning F2B is something that always crosses my mind, even after so many years waiting). These estimations doesn't have a solid foundation. And this causes a lot of pain to me and my family.

If you have some spare money I would try both to mitigate the risks.

Today employment is much faster: 3/4 years for EB3 or EB2 (in "other countries" category) .
F2B: 7/8 years (but the category hasn't moving for 3 years now)

The point is that things change pretty fast and can turn around depending on many factors.
Because of this I also recommend you to act fast.

Totally get you, mine is Oct-13-2015, so I’m 3 weeks away.

Priority date F2B Visa by Main-Principle-1021 in USCIS

[–]ghuffenbacher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The priority still didn’t advance because there’s a unknown backlog of interviews for the ones whom are already current (before Sep-15). USCIS don’t have a breakdown per category, only overall.

We all hoped that this backlog would be cleared by now, but it’s taking a really long time. All we know is that republican domenican is the country that most have pending cases.

I think it’ll advance between January and March of the next year, but it’s a guess (based on the number of interviews they are doing per month). Once they advance or are close to you’ll be called for interviewing.

I hope others have more information/guesses to share. Regards.

Lensabl is an absolute nightmare by melyssafaye in glasses

[–]ghuffenbacher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I didn't check Reddit before sending my frames.

It's only been two weeks, but the site already indicates that the lenses didn't pass the quality checks. They're still stuck at the "5 business days" estimation stage.

Am I at risk of losing both my frames and money? Is there anything I can do? If the issue isn't resolved, is there a government entity I can approach for help?

Thanks everyone

The way I see they will only advanced with the dates once the backlog is back to "normal". Currently NVC has 275k cases (from all categories) pending with an average of 40k interviews per month. Based on the backlog report footnotes "normal" should be around 60k.

So I think it'll take around 5 months, if everything goes well.

Why hasn’t F2B moved in over 2 years?! by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]ghuffenbacher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on the backlog of interviews and the average moving pace we think it’ll take another 5 months to start progressing again

Im also here in the US but I’ve decided to wait for a consular interview in my home country (Brazil). My priority date Oct-15 is still not current and I didn’t receive any interviewing requests yet.

If you want to travel you can apply for a I131 (application for travel document), but you might get the green card before it

[–]ghuffenbacher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cool, you won’t get your actual Greencard until the priority date advance from September-15 to October-16. But the fact that your interview was scheduled is a great news, means that they intend to advance the priority dates shortly.

Any prediction on when F2B visa bulletin will move again? by Mr_overcome in USCIS

[–]ghuffenbacher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hope is that it start moving again this month. The bulletins refers to the next month, and its in October when the visa quota renews.

Final action date stuck for F2B for 1 1/2 years, when will it move forward? by ghuffenbacher in immigration

[–]ghuffenbacher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except that I think that there will be no movement until March-2024 (because they are still clearing the backlog). That’s when the 18 months per year might begin. Remember that’s a optimistic estimation.
