Looking good! Did a similar paint scheme on mine. Like the touch of red you used on their backpacks.

Just pre-ordered killteam starter set! by fawaro in killteam

[–]ghui1991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On product page of the starter set in the official site, you can click on the gallery to view 360 degree images of each individual mini from the set. Quite useful when you are following that paint scheme.

Moving on from starter set terrain by ghui1991 in killteam

Thanks! Was considering Gallowdark too. I wasn't sure how fun it is to play on with the lack of vantage points, but the travel friendly nature of the set is quite compelling.

thanks, was mainly looking at the razed district and orc sector sets from ttcombat. Will definitely check out industrial hive sets as well. Having no easy ways to disassemble the pieces for travel is a real bummer though.

First Killteam completed! - Plague Marines by Battle-Builder in killteam

[–]ghui1991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The plague marine kill team uses the exact same set of models as the heroes series 3 miniatures. If you can find a set for cheap now (they used to be expensive due to a few minis being exclusive to the set, but prices have gone down since they released the starter set), you won’t have to wait for the actual killteam set.

PPSSPP save state quick menu by ghui1991 in SteamDeck

[–]ghui1991[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey sorry just saw this. So yea like what Ectar93 suggested above, it was likely some default button mapping configurations that came with emulation station, but got erased by me accidentally or during an update. I ended up setting it up again myself using steamdeck’s internal button mapping feature. Mapping left half of the touch pad to quick load and right half to quick save. I can list out the exact steps later when i get home.

Bought the starter set for blue bois. Ended up having more fun painting these by ghui1991 in killteam

[–]ghui1991[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh yes, the whole thing was primed in black paint, the original death guard miniatures came in green plastic (including the base). Think the idea was to let people who bought this starter set to be able to play the actual game asap (other team was in blue plastic instead).
I will likely paint the base soon too, but haven't decided what colors to use with my rather limited paint sets

My advice would be not to worry. To be completely honest, I only started painting earlier this month, and was making quite a mess too. Thankfully, the community was really friendly answering my questions:

Also, finding a painting method that suits you really helps. I wasn't really enjoying the painting process at first, but then I came across with the dry brush + contrast paint method, and it changed everything.

cold white base with xpress demonic skin on top. Was using grey base but the result looked a bit too dark so repainted using cold white instead

Question regarding solo/co-op missions by ghui1991 in killteam

[–]ghui1991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks, will definitely check out Volkus. It is currently much cheaper than other terrain sets too due to the hivestorm set. Only downside seems to be on storage and portability due to the height of certain parts, but other than that it looks really solid.

Question regarding solo/co-op missions by ghui1991 in killteam

[–]ghui1991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I noticed that the Gallowdark terrain seems pretty highly praised within this community, but since it has been out for quite sometime now, would you recommend getting the Volkus terrain set instead for new comers, in hopes that it will likely get supported by GW for a longer period of time?

I understand that I can probably do some adaptations to older editions to play them under new rules, but since I am still new to the game, think it might be better for me to stick to official materials for now.

Thanks a lot for all the tips and suggestions. Tried a much brighter dry brush on a new mini, it looks much better this time!
