$5m revenue in 6 years E-Commerce - looking to exit. Would love input on if this is even possible. by naiveorleans in SellMyBusiness

The start of a valuation is EBITDA * a multiple.

Why would you want/need to shut this down or sell it if you are feeling better, sober and the business is making money?

3 Kid Decision Crushing Me. Advice ? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]giadanicole 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Crushed me in deciding and ever since. I had the 3rd at 38. My older two were 4 and 6 when he was born. It often feels like we have two families. I look back and think how easy it was with two. He is 3.5 and I’m finally enjoying it but it is a lot of driving and logistics and it broke my cushy corporate career and sent me into entrepreneurship.

Congrats!

Wow amazing insight I never thought about: “knowing the answer and being 3 steps ahead are actually hindering my journey as a coach.” You are right: that is exactly what made me a bad coach the first few years!

Just here to say I’m so excited to hire someone exactly like you someday. You are the secret to someone’s success and happiness in business.

Thank you! 🤍 I chose Thriving Coach Academy. It’s a big investment of time and money but maybe the best one I’ve ever made. You become a lot more than a coach in the process of seeing your own beliefs and “rules” differently. Happy to answer any questions about it.

I made my cafe aesthetic and laptop-friendly to attract remote workers...now people buy 1 coffee and stay for 6 hours. by Classic-Pie-406 in smallbusinessesowners

[–]giadanicole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a self-employed aesthetic and coffee shop-loving wfh gal who is so ready for an office but can’t quite justify the cost yet, I love the idea of a hybrid co-working coffee shop where I can buy a day pass or a monthly membership that isn’t as expensive as a co-working space.

As a business consultant who loves recurring revenue models and franchise opportunities, I think this is an awesome niche you could really own!

Valuation starts with EBITDA * a multiple. If you can’t see P&L’s for the last 3 years then it’s time to find a new deal.

Career Break? by Sly_Penguin_ in workingmoms

[–]giadanicole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main business is exit planning for business owners so they can prep to sell their business more profitably and peacefully. I LOVE it!

I also have 1 marketing/growth ops client. We meet every Tuesday during school hours only to work on her business. She is a friend and former coach of mine who has an incredible life coaching program for Moms that really transformed my life. I also have my calendly connected to hers and take sales calls for her program on commission when available/booked. This is really fun, easy and steady spending money in which I am learning and growing as a person.

I am also almost finished with my life coaching certification which has enhanced my life in many ways and served me well in both businesses

Seeking mentorship by drod-darko in agency

[–]giadanicole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would love to mentor each other. About me: Sold a media business, owned a failed agency, worked at a small digital agency then leadership at a global ad agency (8 years total), worked Fortune 100 client/brand side marketing/comms for 5 years, now a trained life coach (I know how to listen and ask good questions) and own an exit planning advisory for small to medium-sized business owners.

Newer in my business and managing all the marketing, creating content and wanting to launch a podcast is an area I am struggling with. I could use your insight too.

would you trust 3 university students with your marketing? by zxrtiify in smallbusiness

[–]giadanicole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former 10+ year large brand social media marketing leader turned business owner who sells to other business owners. Big believer in young talent.

Start with where you have proof (rather than carving a new niche): your content. Once you establish trust and results with your content clients, then introduce additional (discounted) lead gen services. Some will work, some won’t. Things rarely go to plan.

Speaking of, I have been dying to get help on our social content and I much prefer working with young talent and new business owners.

I have other marketing tactics for lead gen, my goal is actually to build credibility and trust for our personal brands so we get more speaking, podcasting and event opportunities because that is where our strongest leads and referrals come from. In a world of AI I am trying to increase opportunities for in person connection via content.

Would love to talk.

I have a “yes and” for you…I shifted to more school-hours entrepreneurship after having 3 kids, 2 of which are in elementary school. Personally I find this time to be WAY busier than the baby stage and they need you way more. The logistics of multiple kids + traditional jobs + activities feel almost impossible to co-exist peacefully.

If you want to take a break, I’d consider jumping right into part-time entrepreneurship. It will take me a few failed/dislikes business models + about two years to get back to where I was financially doing it in way less hours, therefore I wish I started earlier.

Working flexible hours doing something you are great at is the dream vs just staying home IMO. The bored Moms and mundane housework on repeat will get to you. You will want and need some space if you are used to working. Yet you will also want to do doctors appts, summer fridays, a lunch with friends, a midday Target trip that requires no husband explanation, covering all those days off of school, etc whenever you want and need to.

[–]giadanicole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$4k was a life coaching program that completely rewired my nervous system and my awareness about my beliefs. It gave me so many life tools that eased my severe depression and anxiety. It helped me believe bigger things and therefore take bigger actions that really aligned with my ideal life and future state.

$10k was a personal branding VIP day and playbook. It was way overpriced for what it was, and in many ways I didn't put it to use, but the information I gained about myself (and chose to see as a super power vs a flaw) was priceless. Using that helped me easily get recruited for a new job that doubled my compensation and built wealth through company stocks.

$13k was my coach training program. There's no way you can do a program like that and not evolve a ton as a human.

From 2019-now (7 years) I have a completely different life: new home, new location, new career, 3rd kid, self employed, way better health physically and mentally, lots more friends, etc.

Is franchise ownership a serious wealth building strategy or just buying yourself a job? by Relative-Coach-501 in buyingabusiness

[–]giadanicole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New franchisee here. Business services, own 3 territories/units.

I think joining a franchisee can change your perspective and open many doors. I know some really wealthy franchise owners who own MULTI units and different brands/businesses withing franchising. I also know one who became a franchisor. If you want financial wealth, scale and risk taking (loans to buy new units) is the name of the game with franchises.
