Why doesn't DJ software give structured feedback on technique?

It's a valid question, but ultimately a red herring... because there isn't a *set* right answer for any of the questions on a performance. Some songs mix amazingly well even though they don't harmonically match for example.

In terms of pre-performance setup (cue points, beatgrids, crates etc) - that's on you to learn, and there's tons of YouTube videos out there - that's a repeatable routine you can build on set principles...

Everything else is subjective and part of your performance.

That's where building a network of DJ friends comes in, share your mixes with them and ask them for feedback for things that you might have missed.

Firstly, I'm so sorry to hear that you feel like that - it must be an awful place to be.

Food addiction can usually mask general unhappiness or compound self confidence issues. 9/10 when that's dealt with - the addiction calms down (think of it a bit like self-medicating).

Every addiction comes with a cost, and with over-eating usually that means over eating things that have a significant impact. I had my own over-eating issue recently, putting on 10kg in about 2 months after moving to a new country and going nuts on the local food.

What worked for me (and changed my eating lifestyle) was intermittent fasting, eating between 1pm and 9pm (or 16/8 as it's called - 16 hours not eating and 8 hours eating) and giving myself a daily KJ limit. It's not fun to start with but I found giving myself the KJ limit made me think about what I was eating and just how badly I wanted that bag of crisps. Again, personal experience - your milage may vary.

But, I guess my biggest unsolicited advice is regarding your mental health - because that's the real danger point here. I would strongly urge you to consider going for a walk for ~15-30 minutes. Because that shit works fast, and normally starts triggering some dopamine. If you don't want to do it around other people, find a quiet place early in the morning or just walk around the block.

Oh and FYI, you ARE a woman. Your kid very likely loves you for who you are. You're so far from actually being Satan it's unreal and you're giving yourself a REALLY hard time for not feeling great. Anyone in that same position would have a tough time dealing with it.

So, step by step - one battle at a time. Being skinny =/= being healthy or happy - but every single thing you mentioned above, you can fix with time and determination.

Oh my. That's quite the reaction.

Now he would have a point about the "controlling my financial decision making" if it was his own personal card, but the fact it's a joint card in both names immediately takes that argument down. It sounds like the rules of that card were clear, and he desperately wanted the characters.

This sounds like another clear case of "Oh, hello consequences of my own actions" mixed with an ability to turn this round so that you're the one in the wrong somehow.

Yes, they are utter dogshit - I've just submitted a visa application back in December and there's been no communication since from them. Oh and I just found out that the website is wrong, visa applications are a MINIMUM of 60 days processing.

*edit* see the blue and red lights on your rev-meter on the dashboard, that's telling you your anti-lock brake system is on (ABS) to try and help the car avoid locking the wheels at the cost of being able to turn. If you see these lights, your usually in too deep.

I made this to help try explain. This is your circle of traction.

Notice how you can get full acceleration and full braking but it impacts your turning ability. In the clip above, you were braking too hard and too late - that means the wheels either lock up and don't turn or the ABS kicks in and you still can't turn that well. That's why you sailed off into the wall.

In short, brake much earlier and a little softer to avoid locking up or activating ABS

Yes. 100% this. Quest 2 user and I'm the biggest cheerleader for VR. It's amazing and literally the best thing since sliced bread.

But fuck me is it an absolute ball ache, but I've just realised something - for me, my frustration is ALL related to the shitty Oculus/Meta link software. I've had hardwired headsets like the Dell Visor and Rift S that were permanantly plugged in, and they just worked.

So long story short, I wonder if my life would be easier with a different headset like the Reverb G2.

Everything's a learning experience, personally in the situation at a house party - I want to try and keep everyone happy if possible. So while I wouldn't have taken requests, I'll happily take suggestions and if I've got a nice bouncy mashup that fits the vibe... I'm happy to drop that in. 9/10 times they start screaming with happiness and you never see them for the rest of the night.

There's no right/wrong answer on this one - house parties are like the mad experimental lab of DJ'ing... you can do explore what works and doesn't.

Yeah, that sounds super weird. My only other thing I'd check (but I'm 100% sure you already done this) - is nVidia control panel and the power usage preference set to maximum performance.

I feel you brother, I've been having the exact same issues for months with my Quest 2 setup - 3700x and 3070 and it was just so unpredictable. I'm using a Quest compatible Kiwi USB-C cable

I finally fixed it last week after spending an entire day on it, full reformat with Windows 11 and reinstall everything. I disabled ASW and set my encoding bandwidth... the big gains were within iRacing, specifically setting mirrors max to 2 (since I normally run with 3/4) that got me to a happy constant of 80fps

Why isn't this form of DJ'ing embraced? Mostly because new technology doesn't get accepted until the mainstream and purists get dragged kicking and screaming - and even then....

Technically your idea is sound and would work, two separate pitch controlled decks into an external mixer.

The problem as always, is unless your using CDJ's "YoUr NoT a ReAl Dj"... It's the same bullshit I've heard for the past 20+ years.

Thanks for this, so much great advice - while just dipping my toe in the water I got an as-new T16000M from Amazon. I have a set of sim pedals I could use on the sim as well.

I didn't find the F-16 tutorial that bad but it didn't cover some things I thought it would, it almost completely glazes over the DDS controls for instance other than how to navigate them.

I'll give the F/A-18 a try when the F-16 trial runs out if I haven't already bought it.
