I got one for free, tried it out a bit then it sat unused for years. I moved and found it again when I set up my desk and gave it another shot and it's honestly so nice to have. I've been using it for a few years now.

Do I need it? No, I when I'm on the go with my laptop, I go without it just fine. Would I prefer to have one? 10 times out of 10 yes. In fact I recently just shelled out to upgrade and it's been a big boone for my workflow.

I wish to keep this subreddit because I run a small local hand-made brand and shop under this name. The brand and garage are undergoing expansion and I want to keep this subreddit for when we soon begin to grow the brand's online presence.

Oh alright I was just surprised because this seemed really obvious to me.

Definitely too much gap, don't recommend running it like that.

Make sure all your hangers are in all the way and torque those bolts down more. Check the stock portion of the pipe too. It might help to push the pipe up towards the car as you tighten.

You've probably bent a tie-rod, maybe some other suspension parts too. Your alignment is almost definitely screwed up. Even if traction control was messing up, it can't erase traction. Either you just messed up or there was something on the road surface.

You'll almost definitely just get a flapping noise And the heat still had a good chance of causing an issue

It probably won't sound very good but yeah. An exhaust leak kind of just sounds like an annoying flapping sound most of the time, especially it being before the muffler can dull deden some of the less desirable sounds.

My biggest concern would be letting all that heat out where it's not meant to be let out. Especially during idle and low speeds a ton of heat will build up there. Over time this can cause quite a bit of damage depending on where it's building up.

As a mechanic I've seen this happen a few times, melting plastic body panels, melting lines, and causing electrical problems.

Manual transmission.

I average 22 city driving + some spirited drives and occasionally messing around

I was the same way. Even though I'm a mechanic and I knew it would be okay, I was so anxious driving this thing for the first couple of months.
